Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Safely and efficiently operate hotel vehicles, including luxury sedans, SUVs, and passenger vans, to transport guests to and from airports, business meetings, and local points of interest.
- Extend a warm, professional welcome to all guests, opening doors and assisting them with entering and exiting the vehicle to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Expertly handle all guest luggage with the utmost care, skillfully loading and unloading it and ensuring its secure transport and seamless transfer to the bell staff upon arrival.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and engaging mobile concierge, providing guests with insightful information about hotel services, amenities, local culture, dining, and attractions.
- Maintain constant communication with the front office, bell desk, and concierge teams to coordinate guest pickups, departures, and special transportation requests in a timely manner.
- Adhere strictly to all state and local traffic laws, regulations, and hotel safety protocols to guarantee the well-being of all passengers.
- Conduct thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles, meticulously checking for any mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns and reporting them promptly.
- Maintain the assigned vehicle in a pristine, immaculate condition, ensuring both the interior and exterior are clean, sanitized, and presentable at all times.
- Keep a detailed and accurate driver's log of all trips, documenting mileage, routes, passenger numbers, and any notable incidents for operational records.
- Monitor airline arrival and departure schedules for airport transfers, proactively adjusting pickup times to accommodate delays or early arrivals and minimize guest wait times.
- Ensure the vehicle is consistently stocked with guest amenities as per brand standards, such as bottled water, tissues, charging cables, and relevant hotel marketing materials.
- Respond professionally and courteously to all guest inquiries and special requests during transit, striving to personalize the experience and exceed expectations.
- Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills when faced with unforeseen circumstances like traffic congestion, road closures, or vehicle issues, keeping guests informed and calm.
- Uphold the highest standards of guest privacy and discretion, handling any personal information or conversations with complete confidentiality.
- Assist guests with mobility challenges, providing patient and considerate support to ensure a comfortable and dignified travel experience.
Secondary Functions
- Provide support to the bell team during periods of high traffic, assisting with luggage handling, storage, and delivery to guest rooms.
- Run essential hotel-related errands as directed by management, such as picking up executive lunches, delivering important documents, or acquiring supplies.
- Assist the valet and guest services teams by managing the flow of traffic in the hotel driveway, ensuring it remains clear, safe, and efficient.
- Act as an additional "eyes and ears" for the hotel, reporting any security concerns, suspicious activity, or safety hazards observed on or off the property to the appropriate department.
- Perform routine vehicle upkeep, including refueling, checking fluid levels and tire pressure, and coordinating scheduled maintenance appointments with the fleet manager.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hotel porte-cochère, main entrance, and surrounding driveway areas.
- Occasionally deliver amenities, packages, or folios to guest rooms when other departments require support.
- Engage with waiting guests at the hotel entrance, offering assistance, answering questions, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Valid Driver's License: A current, valid driver's license with a consistently clean and violation-free driving record is mandatory. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement may be required depending on vehicle size.
- Geographic Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of local and regional roadways, airports, major landmarks, and traffic patterns.
- Vehicle Operation: Demonstrated ability to safely operate a diverse range of vehicles, including large passenger vans and luxury-class sedans.

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range: 1-3 years of professional driving experience (e.g., for a shuttle, limousine, or ride-share service) combined with customer service experience.
Preferred: 2+ years of experience as a driver within a 4 or 5-star hotel, luxury resort, or high-end private car service. Previous experience in a guest-facing hotel role, such as Bell Attendant or Valet, is highly advantageous.
