Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Execute comprehensive cleaning and sanitization of guest rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and polishing, to meet and exceed brand and health standards.
  • Expertly strip and remake beds with fresh, clean linens, ensuring a crisp, neat, and inviting presentation for incoming guests.
  • Meticulously clean and disinfect all bathroom surfaces, including toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, and floors, to ensure the highest level of hygiene.
  • Replenish all guest room and bathroom amenities, such as soaps, shampoos, lotions, and stationery, in accordance with hotel pars.
  • Replace used towels, bathmats, and robes with fresh, properly folded items to provide a comfortable and luxurious guest experience.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks on a rotating schedule, including shampooing carpets, washing windows, and cleaning upholstery, to maintain the long-term quality of the rooms.
  • Thoroughly inspect the condition of all furniture, fixtures, and appliances within the room, ensuring they are clean and in perfect working order.
  • Operate and maintain housekeeping equipment, such as vacuums and floor polishers, ensuring they are used safely and effectively.
  • Systematically organize and stock the housekeeping cart at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure all necessary supplies and linens are readily available.
  • Manage and sort soiled linens for laundry service and restock linen closets with clean, folded items to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Empty and sanitize all wastebaskets and trash receptacles, disposing of waste in the designated manner according to hotel procedures.
  • Ensure all guest rooms are securely locked and guest privacy is respected at all times during and after the cleaning process.

Secondary Functions

  • Promptly and professionally respond to guest requests for additional amenities, cleaning services, or other needs with a positive and helpful attitude.
  • Identify, document, and report any maintenance defects, safety hazards, or property damage to the housekeeping supervisor or engineering department for immediate resolution.
  • Diligently follow all hotel safety and security protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and adherence to emergency procedures.
  • Greet guests encountered in hallways and public areas with a warm and friendly demeanor, offering assistance as needed to enhance their stay.
  • Catalog, log, and turn in any items left behind by guests to the Lost and Found department, following established hotel policies.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the front desk and supervisors to provide timely updates on room status (e.g., clean, vacant, occupied).
  • Assist fellow team members during peak times or when needed to ensure all daily housekeeping tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Adhere strictly to the hotel's grooming, uniform, and personal appearance standards to represent the brand professionally.
  • Conserve hotel resources by using cleaning supplies and utilities responsibly and minimizing waste.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • No formal education is required.

Preferred Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 0-2 years.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a housekeeping or custodial role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment, is a plus but not required. We are happy to train dedicated and motivated candidates.
