Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop and execute comprehensive, strategic sales plans and initiatives to achieve and exceed revenue goals for assigned market segments (e.g., corporate, association, SMERF, government).
- Proactively prospect, solicit, and secure new business through a combination of outside sales calls, industry networking, client entertainment, and targeted marketing efforts.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing key accounts to ensure repeat business and foster loyalty.
- Conduct thorough site inspections and FAM trips, professionally presenting the hotel's features, advantages, and benefits to prospective clients.
- Skillfully negotiate and finalize contracts, including room blocks, meeting space, food and beverage minimums, and other hotel services, ensuring profitability and alignment with hotel policies.
- Achieve weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets for sales activities, including prospecting calls, client appointments, and site tours, meticulously tracking progress in the CRM system.
- Represent the hotel at industry trade shows, community events, and professional association meetings to promote the property and generate sales leads.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop and manage the sales budget and forecast future revenue.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals to potential clients that are customized to their specific needs and highlight the hotel's value proposition.
- Manage the entire booking lifecycle, from lead qualification and proposal generation to contract execution and turnover to the convention services team.
- Drive group and catering business by actively up-selling and cross-selling hotel services, including spa, dining, and recreational activities.
- Create and implement targeted promotional offers and packages to stimulate demand during need periods and for specific market segments.
- Analyze sales statistics and performance data to determine the effectiveness of sales strategies and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure all client information, sales activities, and booking details are accurately and promptly entered and maintained within the hotel's CRM (e.g., Delphi.fdc) and PMS systems.
Secondary Functions
- Liaise with other hotel departments, including Front Office, Catering, and Revenue Management, to ensure seamless communication and flawless execution of group and event requirements.
