Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct in-depth, personalized client consultations to thoroughly understand their lifestyle, functional needs, personal style preferences, and budgetary constraints.
  • Develop and present comprehensive, visually engaging design concepts, mood boards, and style guides to effectively communicate the proposed aesthetic direction.
  • Create detailed and accurate floor plans and furniture layouts to optimize traffic flow, functionality, and visual balance within the space.
  • Meticulously select, source, and procure furniture, lighting, area rugs, window treatments, and accessories that align with the approved design and budget.
  • Advise clients on sophisticated color palettes, paint selections, wallpaper, and other surface finishes to create a harmonious and cohesive atmosphere.
  • Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial ideation and budget allocation through to final installation, styling, and client handover.
  • Develop, track, and manage detailed project budgets, ensuring all sourcing, purchasing, and contractor services are executed within the client's financial framework.
  • Coordinate and liaise with a network of vendors, suppliers, and tradespeople, including painters, installers, and upholsterers, to ensure quality and timely execution.
  • Oversee and manage the logistics of delivery and installation for all furnishings and decor, ensuring correct placement and assembly according to the design plan.
  • Skillfully present design proposals, material samples, and product selections to clients, clearly articulating the design rationale and value.
  • Source one-of-a-kind and custom-made items, including commissioned art, bespoke furniture, and unique decorative objects, to infuse personality into the space.

  • Attend industry trade shows, visit vendor showrooms, and network at design fairs to cultivate supplier relationships and discover new product lines.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed procurement documentation, including purchase orders, product specifications, and client order tracking.
  • Perform on-site final styling and accessorizing, meticulously arranging every element to create a "photo-ready" and emotionally resonant space before the final client reveal.
