Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Direct and oversee the comprehensive planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of all human service programs, including areas like family support, senior services, child welfare, housing assistance, and mental health initiatives.
  • Develop and administer the department's annual budget, including forecasting future funding needs, allocating resources effectively, monitoring expenditures, and pursuing diverse funding sources.

  • Represent the organization and its mission at public forums, community meetings, and legislative sessions, effectively articulating program goals, successes, and challenges.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of professional, technical, and administrative staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee complex grant writing and fund development activities, from identifying opportunities to application submission and management of awarded funds.
