Primary Functions

- Generate precise spool sheets, isometrics, and bills of materials (BOMs) to support efficient prefabrication, procurement, and cost-tracking processes.
- Thoroughly review and interpret submittal data and specifications for HVAC equipment to ensure proper sizing, clearance requirements, and connection points are accurately reflected in the models.
- Maintain and manage all project drawing files with strict version control, systematically incorporating revisions and adhering to established company and client drafting standards.
- Actively participate in weekly BIM coordination meetings, clearly presenting identified clashes and proposing viable, cost-effective solutions to the integrated project team.
- Skillfully convert design development sketches and redline markups from engineers into professionally drafted, coordinated, and ready-for-construction documents.
- Produce detailed equipment pad layouts, roof curb drawings, and structural support details that are critical for guiding proper field installation and ensuring system stability.
- Develop clear and informative schematic diagrams, such as control schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and system flow diagrams, to illustrate system logic.
- Ensure all drawings and models rigorously comply with relevant local, state, and federal building codes, as well as ASHRAE, NFPA, and other applicable industry standards.
- Assist in performing on-site surveys and field measurements to verify existing conditions, capture precise data, and guarantee the accuracy of as-built drawings.
- Create, manage, and maintain a library of Revit families and AutoCAD blocks specific to HVAC components to enhance drafting efficiency and promote standardization across projects.
- Prepare complete drawing sheet sets for official project milestones and permit submissions, ensuring all title blocks, notes, legends, and details are accurate and professionally presented.
- Generate detailed sectional views, elevations, and 3D isometrics to clarify complex installation sequences and spatial relationships for field personnel.
- Methodically revise drawings and models in response to feedback from Requests for Information (RFIs), Architect's Supplemental Instructions (ASIs), and unforeseen field condition reports.
- Coordinate drawing layouts and system routing with other trade disciplines, including electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, to achieve a fully integrated and clash-free building model.
- Support the final project turnover process by preparing meticulous as-built drawings and documentation that accurately reflect the final installed conditions for the building owner.
- Calculate preliminary ductwork and piping sizes based on initial engineering data to facilitate the early stages of the modeling and coordination process.
- Plot, batch, and electronically issue complete drawing sets to clients, general contractors, and other key project stakeholders according to the project delivery schedule.
Secondary Functions
