Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Execute the complete, end-to-end installation of new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, and condensing units, following precise manufacturer specifications.
Interpret and work from complex blueprints, design specifications, and shop drawings to ensure accurate placement and installation of all HVAC equipment and components.
Skillfully measure, fabricate, and install various types of ductwork (sheet metal, fiberglass, flex) for residential and commercial air distribution systems.
Perform professional-grade brazing and soldering of copper piping for refrigerant lines, ensuring leak-free connections that meet industry standards.
Run and connect low-voltage and line-voltage wiring from the HVAC unit to thermostats and electrical panels, adhering to all safety protocols and electrical codes.
Charge newly installed systems with the correct type and amount of refrigerant, and meticulously perform pressure and leak testing to validate the integrity of the entire system.
Conduct comprehensive start-up procedures on newly installed equipment, calibrating controls and adjusting settings to ensure the system operates at peak efficiency.
Install and configure a variety of system accessories, including thermostats, humidifiers, air filtration systems, and zoning controls.
Perform meticulous cut-ins and connections for gas lines to furnaces and other heating appliances, always prioritizing safety and adhering to strict gas codes.
Systematically troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that arise during the initial start-up and commissioning phase of an installation project.
Safely remove and properly dispose of old HVAC systems and components in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies.
Collaborate closely with general contractors, electricians, plumbers, and other trades on new construction sites to coordinate installation timelines and prevent conflicts.
Ensure all installations pass local and state building code inspections, making any necessary adjustments to meet compliance requirements.
Adhere to all company and OSHA safety standards on the job site, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection.

Secondary Functions

Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service vehicle, conducting regular inventory checks to ensure all necessary tools and parts are available.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 2-5 years of direct, hands-on experience in residential and/or commercial HVAC installation.
