Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Create high-quality, original digital paintings and illustrations from initial concept sketches to final polished execution for a variety of media, including games, animation, print, and web.
- Develop and establish unique visual styles and art directions that align with project goals, brand identity, and the vision of the Art Director.
- Collaborate intimately with creative teams, including art directors, writers, designers, and animators, to translate project requirements and narrative beats into impactful visuals.
- Actively participate in art reviews and critique sessions, professionally processing and applying constructive feedback to iterate and refine artwork to meet quality standards.
- Produce a diverse range of illustrative assets, such as detailed character designs, evocative environmental scenes, key promotional art, marketing materials, and in-game assets.
- Conceptualize and visualize new ideas through rapid sketching, thumbnailing, and storyboarding to explore different compositional and narrative solutions.
- Maintain a consistent and high-quality artistic style across all assigned tasks and deliverables, ensuring visual cohesion throughout a project's lifecycle.
- Masterfully apply core art principles, including composition, color theory, lighting, anatomy, and perspective, to create visually harmonious and believable artwork.
- Adapt and flex artistic style to suit the needs of various projects, demonstrating versatility in moving between realistic, stylized, and cartoonish aesthetics.
- Conduct thorough visual research by gathering reference materials and creating mood boards to inform, inspire, and guide the artistic direction of a piece or project.
