Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Perform high-volume, deadline-driven image retouching for e-commerce product listings, ensuring color accuracy and consistency across all shots and angles.
  • Execute advanced photo manipulation and compositing, seamlessly blending multiple images, backgrounds, and elements to create realistic scenes for advertising campaigns.
  • Conduct meticulous color correction and grading to match brand-specific color palettes and maintain visual cohesion across various media platforms.
  • Utilize non-destructive editing techniques in Adobe Photoshop, including advanced masking, adjustment layers, and smart objects, to allow for future revisions and maintain file integrity.
  • Clean up and perfect images by removing blemishes, dust, scratches, and unwanted background elements while maintaining natural skin texture and product integrity.
  • Crop, resize, and format large batches of images according to specific guidelines and technical specifications for web, print, and social media channels.
  • Work on high-end beauty and fashion retouching, including precise skin smoothing (using techniques like frequency separation), hair masking, and contouring while preserving a natural and authentic look.
  • Create and apply precise clipping paths and complex masks to isolate products or subjects from their backgrounds with exceptional edge quality.
  • Collaborate directly with photographers and art directors during and after photoshoots to understand the creative vision and ensure retouching aligns with their intent.
  • Maintain and organize a large digital asset library, implementing proper naming conventions, metadata, and keywording for easy retrieval and archiving.
  • Perform rigorous quality assurance checks on all final images to ensure they meet technical specifications and creative standards before delivery or publication.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual style and workflow for image processing that can be scaled across the team and for freelance support.
  • Research, test, and implement new retouching techniques and software tools to continually improve quality and efficiency.
  • Create realistic shadows and reflections for product imagery, grounding them in a believable digital space to enhance realism and appeal.
  • Prepare and pre-flight image files for print production, ensuring correct color profiles (CMYK), resolution (DPI), and formatting to avoid costly errors.
  • Adjust lighting and exposure on raw image files (RAW) to bring out critical detail, balance highlights and shadows, and achieve a polished, professional look.
  • Manage color-managed workflows, including regular monitor calibration, to ensure unwavering color accuracy from capture to final output across all devices.
  • Develop Photoshop Actions and Lightroom Presets to automate repetitive tasks and dramatically streamline the editing process for high-volume projects.

  • Assist the creative team in sourcing and selecting stock photography that aligns with brand guidelines and specific campaign objectives.
  • Provide constructive guidance and feedback to junior editors or freelancers to ensure their work meets established quality standards and brand aesthetics.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Adobe Photoshop: Expert-level proficiency, including layers, masks, adjustment layers, pen tool, filters, advanced compositing, and action scripting.
  • Adobe Lightroom Classic: Strong command of the develop module for RAW processing, batch editing, and catalog management.
  • Digital Retouching Techniques: Mastery of frequency separation, dodging and burning, liquify tool, and color grading.
  • Color Theory & Correction: A deep understanding of color spaces (sRGB, Adobe RGB, CMYK), white balance, and achieving accurate, consistent color.
  • Digital Asset Management (DAM): Experience using tools like Adobe Bridge or dedicated DAM systems (e.g., Bynder, Canto) for organizing and tagging assets.
  • Wacom Tablet/Pen Input: High proficiency using a pressure-sensitive tablet for precise, efficient, and ergonomic editing.
  • Non-Destructive Workflow: A firm commitment to using smart objects, adjustment layers, and other non-destructive methods to maintain image data and flexibility.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
