Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Perform comprehensive visual inspections of digital images, captured from production lines or other sources, to identify, classify, and document defects, anomalies, or non-conformance to specifications.
  • Meticulously review, categorize, and moderate user-generated or system-generated visual content against a complex set of internal policies and community guidelines.
  • Utilize specialized software, including proprietary image analysis tools and computer-aided inspection systems, to magnify, measure, and analyze image characteristics.
  • Accurately label and annotate objects, features, and defects within large datasets of images to train, validate, and improve computer vision and machine learning algorithms.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspection results, including defect types, frequencies, and locations, within a Quality Management System (QMS) or database.
  • Escalate complex, ambiguous, or critical issues to senior inspectors, engineers, or policy specialists for resolution in a timely manner.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality criteria to ensure consistent and unbiased evaluation across all inspections.
  • Compare product images against engineering drawings, master samples, or digital "golden" templates to verify conformance to design and aesthetic requirements.
  • Generate concise and informative daily inspection reports, summarizing findings, trends, and key quality metrics for team leads and management.
  • Calibrate and perform daily operational checks on inspection equipment and software to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Isolate and flag non-conforming products or content for rework, rejection, or further investigation according to established protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams by providing clear, actionable feedback on defect trends to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Participate in Gage R&R (Repeatability and Reproducibility) studies to assess the effectiveness and consistency of the visual inspection process.
  • Review and interpret technical documentation, blueprints, or policy guidelines to fully understand the inspection criteria for new products or content categories.
  • Manage and prioritize assigned inspection queues effectively to meet throughput targets and service level agreements (SLAs) without compromising quality.
  • Identify and document opportunities for improvement in the inspection process, tooling, or documentation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) on new product runs, providing a detailed report on compliance with all specifications.
  • Verify that image data is correctly captured, stored, and archived according to data management and security protocols.
  • Stay current with evolving quality standards, product changes, and policy updates to ensure ongoing inspection relevance and accuracy.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies between automated inspection results and human review, helping to fine-tune AI models.
  • Uphold a high level of integrity and confidentiality, especially when handling sensitive, proprietary, or graphic content.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data tracking and reporting).
