Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine the company's global immigration strategy to align with business objectives, talent acquisition goals, and long-term growth plans.
- Act as the company's foremost expert and strategic advisor on complex U.S. and international immigration matters, providing counsel to senior executives, HR leadership, and legal teams.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of employment-based immigration cases, including non-immigrant visas (e.g., H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1) and immigrant visas/permanent residency (e.g., PERM, I-140, Adjustment of Status).
- Direct and manage a team of in-house immigration specialists, paralegals, and coordinators, fostering a culture of excellence, professional development, and high performance.
- Meticulously select, manage, and evaluate relationships with external immigration law firms and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met or exceeded.
- Establish and enforce rigorous compliance protocols, including I-9 and E-Verify programs, LCA Public Access Files, and other record-keeping requirements to ensure audit-readiness.
- Proactively monitor and analyze changes in immigration laws, regulations, and government agency policies globally, and translate these changes into actionable strategies and clear communications for the business.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training and educational resources for recruiters, HR business partners, and managers to ensure a deep understanding of immigration processes and their impact on hiring and talent management.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for high-profile, sensitive, or exceptionally complex immigration cases, providing direct intervention and creative problem-solving.
- Partner closely with Global Mobility, Tax, and Relocation teams to create a holistic and positive international assignment and transfer experience for employees.
- Create and manage the annual budget for the immigration function, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high-quality service and compliance.
- Drive the development and implementation of scalable technology and case management systems to improve efficiency, transparency, and the overall employee experience.
- Lead internal compliance audits and risk assessments of all immigration-related processes and documentation, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare and present regular reports and data-driven insights on immigration program performance, trends, and challenges to senior leadership.
- Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Talent Acquisition, Legal, Finance, and business unit leaders to ensure immigration strategy supports their needs.
