Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Meticulously prepare and assemble a high volume of employment-based immigration petitions, including H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, PERM, I-140, and Adjustment of Status applications.
  • Draft, review, and finalize complex immigration forms and supporting documents, ensuring 100% accuracy and completeness before submission to government agencies like USCIS, DOL, and DOS.
  • Manage a substantial caseload from inception to completion, meticulously tracking all case milestones, deadlines, and expiration dates using case management software (e.g., INSZoom, LawLogix).
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for corporate clients and foreign nationals, providing regular status updates and clearly communicating complex immigration procedures and requirements.
  • Conduct thorough initial reviews of case information and documentation provided by clients to identify and flag potential issues or missing information for the supervising attorney.
  • Prepare and draft detailed responses to government-issued Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and audits by gathering necessary evidence and formulating clear, persuasive arguments.
  • Initiate and manage the PERM Labor Certification process, including drafting job descriptions, overseeing recruitment efforts, and preparing audit files.
  • Maintain and update client and case information in the firm's database, ensuring data integrity for reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Proactively monitor changes in immigration laws, regulations, and procedures, and communicate relevant updates to the legal team and clients.
  • Handle the preparation and posting of Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) with the Department of Labor, ensuring full compliance with wage and worksite location requirements.
  • Coordinate the collection of extensive supporting evidence from clients and employees, including educational credentials, employment verification letters, and financial documents.
  • Prepare and send finalized case files to clients for signature, providing clear instructions for the execution of all necessary forms.
  • Maintain Public Access Files (PAFs) and ensure they are compliant with DOL regulations for H-1B and E-3 visa holders.
  • Effectively communicate with government agencies to check on case status and resolve procedural issues as they arise.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing clients and employees for visa interviews at U.S. consulates and embassies abroad.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of internal case processing workflows and standard operating procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the legal team with ad-hoc projects, legal research, and administrative tasks as needed to meet team objectives.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage workload distribution, provide peer review, and ensure coverage during absences.
  • Participate in client status meetings, providing detailed updates on case progress and upcoming milestones.
  • Generate regular and on-demand reports on caseload, filing deadlines, and other key performance indicators for management review.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Immigration Case Management Software: Proficiency in platforms such as INSZoom, LawLogix, Tracker, or similar systems.
  • Visa-Type Knowledge: Deep understanding of procedures for nonimmigrant (H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN) and immigrant (PERM, I-140, I-485) petitions.
  • Form Preparation: Expertise in accurately completing USCIS, DOL, and DOS forms (e.g., I-129, I-140, I-907, DS-160, ETA-9089).
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat for document creation, data management, and communication.
  • Legal Research: Ability to utilize online legal research tools and government websites to find information on immigration regulations and procedures.
  • PERM Process Management: Experience with the end-to-end PERM Labor Certification process, including recruitment steps and documentation.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
