Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Execute the month-end income closing process by preparing and validating complex journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations for all revenue streams.
- Conduct in-depth variance analysis of actual income against budget, forecast, and prior period results, providing detailed written explanations for significant fluctuations.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance sophisticated financial models to forecast future income and revenue, incorporating business trends, market conditions, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure strict adherence to accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and company policy, with a specific focus on revenue recognition standards like ASC 606.
- Perform detailed reconciliation of investment income, including dividends, interest, and capital gains, by cross-referencing custodian statements with internal records.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, and Operations teams to review contracts and sales orders, ensuring proper revenue recognition treatment is determined and applied.
- Prepare and distribute a comprehensive suite of weekly, monthly, and quarterly income performance reports and dashboards for senior management and key stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve complex income-related discrepancies by tracing transactions through various systems and collaborating with cross-functional departments.
- Analyze and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to revenue, such as Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), and churn rates.
- Assist in the preparation of schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits, and act as a key point of contact for auditor inquiries.
- Drive process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to automate manual tasks, streamline workflows, and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of income reporting.
- Analyze customer billing data and payment patterns to identify trends, assess credit risk, and provide insights into cash flow forecasting.
- Manage the calculation, verification, and accrual of variable income sources such as commissions, royalties, and performance-based bonuses.
- Validate the integrity of data within the company's ERP and financial systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy across different reporting platforms.
- Partner with the accounting team to ensure all income-related transactions are correctly classified and posted to the general ledger in a timely manner.
