Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve complex financial models to accurately forecast short-term and long-term income, revenue, and other key business metrics.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial reporting packages for senior leadership, including detailed variance analysis comparing actual results to budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses into historical performance data, market trends, economic indicators, and competitive landscapes to refine and enhance the accuracy of income projections.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams, integrating their insights on pipelines, campaigns, and capacity into the overarching financial forecast.
  • Identify, quantify, and clearly communicate potential financial risks and opportunities related to the company's various income streams and market position.
  • Play an integral role in the annual budgeting and long-range strategic planning cycles, ensuring income targets are both ambitious and achievable.
  • Establish, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue health, such as customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and monthly recurring revenue (MRR).
  • Provide data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to support strategic decision-making and optimize income-generating activities across the business.
  • Create detailed pricing and profitability analyses for new product launches, service offerings, or potential market expansion initiatives.
  • Evaluate the financial performance and return on investment (ROI) of past marketing campaigns, sales promotions, and other business initiatives.
  • Perform robust "what-if" scenario modeling to assess the potential financial impact of various business decisions, market shifts, or new strategic directions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounting team during the month-end and quarter-end close processes to ensure accurate revenue recognition and financial reporting.
  • Translate high-level, long-term corporate strategies into measurable, quantifiable financial plans and intermediate targets.
  • Perform granular analysis on specific revenue segments, customer cohorts, or product lines to uncover hidden performance drivers and areas for improvement.
  • Develop compelling and intuitive dashboards and data visualizations to effectively communicate financial performance and forward-looking forecasts to a broad, cross-functional audience.
  • Own the continuous improvement and automation of income planning tools, systems, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and analytical depth.
  • Analyze sales pipeline health, conversion rates, and sales cycle lengths to construct a detailed, bottoms-up revenue forecast.
  • Maintain a deep, holistic understanding of the company's business model, an essential foundation for all analytical and forecasting work.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials and supporting schedules for Board of Directors meetings and investor relations updates.
  • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on all income and revenue-related data, metrics, and analytical methodologies.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Financial Modeling: Demonstrated ability to build complex, scalable, and driver-based financial models from scratch in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Expert-Level Excel: Mastery of advanced functions including pivot tables, complex formulas, Power Query, and data modeling. VBA/macro experience is a strong plus.
  • SQL Proficiency: The ability to write queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from relational databases.
