Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Operate and meticulously monitor state-of-the-art incubation and hatching equipment to maintain precise temperature, humidity, ventilation, and turning parameters.

Monitor embryonic development through techniques like candling to assess fertility and viability, accurately removing non-viable eggs as required by protocol.
Accurately document all operational activities, including incubator settings, egg inventory, hatch times, maintenance logs, and sanitation records, ensuring data integrity for performance analysis.
Assist in the post-hatch processing of chicks, which may include sorting by quality, counting, and preparing them for transport in a humane and efficient manner.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs on hatchery equipment, such as replacing belts, motors, and sensors, to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness.
Manage the inventory of eggs, supplies, and chemicals, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained and that all items are stored under proper conditions.

Maintain a constant state of readiness to respond to facility alarms (e.g., power failure, temperature deviation) at any time, which may include participating in an on-call rotation.
