Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Supervise and lead a team of index analysts, providing mentorship, training, and performance management to foster a high-performance culture.
- Oversee the end-to-end daily production process for a portfolio of equity and/or fixed-income indices, ensuring timely and accurate calculation and dissemination.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for resolving complex data exceptions, calculation issues, and operational incidents.
- Manage and execute periodic index events, including monthly rebalances, quarterly reviews, and annual reconstitutions, in strict accordance with published methodologies.
- Analyze and interpret complex corporate actions (mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, rights issues) and their impact on index composition and weighting.
- Ensure all index management activities are compliant with internal policies and external regulations, such as IOSCO Principles and EU Benchmark Regulation (BMR).
- Drive initiatives for process improvement and automation within the index operations team to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Maintain and update index methodology documents, rulebooks, and internal operational procedures to ensure clarity and consistency.

- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on index construction and maintenance, providing expert support to clients, portfolio managers, and sales teams.
- Manage relationships with third-party data vendors, monitoring data quality and resolving any feed-related issues promptly.
- Lead and coordinate projects related to the launch of new indices, enhancements to existing ones, or the retirement of obsolete benchmarks.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality controls to measure and report on the accuracy and timeliness of index production.
- Review and approve daily quality control checks, validation reports, and final index values before publication.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on market structure changes, potential constituent securities, and the impact of proposed methodology adjustments.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise communications to internal and external stakeholders regarding index changes, corporate action treatments, and rebalance results.
- Lead incident post-mortems to identify root causes of errors, implementing corrective and preventative actions to mitigate future risk.
- Oversee the maintenance of historical index data and ensure its integrity for research and performance analysis.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with research, product development, and legal teams to ensure a cohesive approach to index governance.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive business continuity plan for the index operations function to ensure service resilience.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Deep knowledge of financial markets, including equity, fixed income, and derivative instruments.
- Strong proficiency with market data terminals such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, or FactSet.
- Advanced SQL skills for complex data querying, manipulation, and integrity validation.
- Experience using Python or R for data analysis, scripting, and process automation.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and VBA for data modeling and reporting.
- Thorough understanding of index construction methodologies, portfolio theory, and financial benchmarks.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing financial benchmarks, including IOSCO Principles and BMR.

Experience Requirements
