Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Execute a meticulous watering and feeding schedule for a diverse portfolio of indoor plants, adjusting frequency and volume based on species-specific needs, light exposure, and ambient conditions.
- Perform detailed and regular pruning, trimming, and shaping of plants to encourage healthy growth, maintain desired aesthetics, and remove any dead or yellowing foliage.
- Proactively inspect all plants for signs of pests or diseases, accurately identifying issues and implementing appropriate, environmentally-safe treatments and integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all plants and containers, including dusting leaves, cleaning pots, and top-dressing soil to ensure a pristine presentation.
- Skillfully install new plant designs and rotate existing plants according to design specifications, ensuring minimal disruption to the client's environment.
- Monitor and manage environmental factors critical to plant health, such as light levels, temperature, and humidity, making recommendations for improvements when necessary.
- Develop and maintain a professional and positive relationship with clients, acting as the primary on-site contact for all plant-related inquiries and service updates.
- Manage a designated route of client locations efficiently, optimizing travel time and ensuring all scheduled service appointments are completed on time.
- Assess plant health and vitality continuously, making informed decisions regarding plant replacements to uphold our quality standards and client satisfaction.
- Safely operate and maintain all horticultural tools and equipment, including pruners, watering cans, sprayers, and moisture meters.
- Document all services performed, treatments applied, and client communications accurately in our digital service management system.
- Maintain a deep working knowledge of a wide range of common and exotic indoor plant species, including their specific care requirements.
- Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner, adhering to company policies and safety regulations, particularly when using ladders or applying treatments.
Secondary Functions
- Assist with the planning and execution of large-scale plant installations and landscape refresh projects.
- Participate in seasonal and holiday decorating services for clients, including the installation and maintenance of poinsettias, wreaths, and other festive displays.
- Manage and maintain inventory of essential supplies on the service vehicle, including fertilizers, pest control products, and cleaning materials.
- Provide expert guidance and educational tips to clients on basic plant care to foster a collaborative partnership in maintaining the plantscape.
- Contribute to team meetings by sharing insights from the field, discussing challenges, and collaborating on solutions for plant health issues.
- Prepare and stage plants, containers, and materials at the greenhouse or warehouse in preparation for upcoming installations or replacements.

- Advanced Plant Identification: In-depth knowledge of a wide variety of tropical and indoor plant species, including their scientific and common names.
- Pest & Disease Management: Proven ability to identify common indoor plant pests (e.g., spider mites, mealybugs, scale) and diseases, and apply appropriate treatment protocols.
