Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of industrial construction projects, from initial client consultation and pre-construction planning through to final inspection and project handover.
- Develop, manage, and meticulously track comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Interpret complex engineering blueprints, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), technical specifications, and schematics to guide construction activities and ensure strict adherence to design requirements.
- Enforce a rigorous site safety program, ensuring full compliance with all OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of all on-site personnel, including superintendents, foremen, skilled labor, and administrative staff, to optimize workflow and productivity.
- Source, negotiate with, and manage a diverse range of subcontractors and vendors, ensuring quality of work, adherence to schedule, and proper contract execution.
- Conduct thorough quality control inspections at all stages of construction to guarantee that workmanship and materials meet or exceed project specifications and industry quality standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the project owner, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders, providing regular, transparent progress reports and facilitating effective communication.
- Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve on-site issues, scope changes, and unforeseen challenges to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Manage the procurement and logistics of all necessary materials, equipment, and heavy machinery, ensuring timely delivery and proper staging on the job site.
- Secure all necessary permits, licenses, and approvals from local, state, and federal regulatory agencies before and during the construction process.
- Lead regular project meetings with clients, internal teams, and subcontractors to review progress, address concerns, and align on upcoming milestones.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of complex industrial systems, such as process piping, heavy machinery, electrical distribution, and automated controls.
- Develop and implement detailed project closeout procedures, including the creation of punch lists, final inspections, and the compilation of as-built drawings and warranty documentation.
- Manage and process all project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and daily field reports using project management software.
- Monitor project cash flow and manage financial aspects, including invoicing, payment applications, and cost forecasting, in collaboration with the accounting department.

- Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation: Advanced ability to read and interpret complex industrial and structural blueprints, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Construction Project Management Software: Proficiency in tools such as Procore, Primavera P6, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms.
- Cost Estimation & Budget Management: Expertise in developing accurate bids, tracking project costs, and managing multi-million dollar budgets.
- OSHA & Safety Regulations: In-depth knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards and other industrial safety protocols; OSHA 30 certification is highly desired.
- Contract Negotiation & Management: Skill in negotiating, writing, and administering contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
