Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead facility-wide infection prevention and control programs by developing, implementing, and continuously improving evidence-based policies, procedures, and standard operating practices to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and improve patient safety outcomes.

  • Lead or participate in multidisciplinary committees (Infection Control Committee, Prevention Task Forces) to align clinical practice with up-to-date guidance, review sentinel events, and approve policy changes.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Microbiology, Epidemiology, or related health science. For non-RN candidates, evidence of clinical exposure or relevant public health experience is expected.

Preferred Education:

  • Master of Public Health (MPH), MSN with an infection prevention focus, or Master’s in Epidemiology.
