  • Gather, validate, and prioritize detailed business and technical requirements through workshops, JAD sessions, and one-on-one stakeholder interviews; translate those requirements into actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and solution design artifacts.
  • Design and document system integrations, data flows, and API requirements between ERP, CRM, HRIS and third‑party SaaS platforms; produce data mapping tables, transform logic, and error-handling rules to ensure seamless data exchange.
  • Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, configuration guides, and system architecture diagrams to support knowledge transfer, onboarding, and audit-readiness.
  • Perform gap analysis between out-of-the-box application functionality and business needs, recommend configuration, customization, or process changes, and provide impact assessments for trade-offs in scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for system enhancements and deployments; coordinate unit, integration, system, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Manage project deliverables for medium-sized IT projects, including scope definition, milestone planning, risk identification, and dependency tracking; escalate issues and propose mitigation strategies to keep projects on schedule.
  • Configure enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, WMS, HRIS) based on business needs—setting up security roles, approval workflows, business rules, and data validations to maintain compliance and governance.
  • Analyze operational and transactional data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for automation or process optimization; prepare dashboards, KPI reports, and executive summaries using BI tools.
  • Provide application support and troubleshooting for production incidents: perform root cause analysis, coordinate with development and vendor teams for bug fixes, and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Lead or participate in vendor evaluations, RFP processes, and contract negotiations for software purchases, ensuring vendors meet functional, security, and integration requirements.
  • Implement change management practices: prepare release notes, training materials, end-user documentation, and conduct training sessions to drive adoption and reduce post-implementation issues.
  • Monitor systems performance and capacity; recommend and implement improvements for scalability, security, and reliability in collaboration with infrastructure and security teams.
  • Ensure data integrity and governance by establishing validation rules, stewardship processes, reconciliation routines, and periodic audits across transactional systems.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, SOX, GDPR, HIPAA (where applicable), and company policies by implementing appropriate system controls, logging, and role-based access restrictions.
  • Build and maintain reusable technical artifacts such as SQL queries, ETL/ELT scripts, SSIS packages, data models, and integration templates to accelerate future projects and standardize implementations.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to architect reporting feeds, dimensional models, and data warehouses; define transformation logic to support reliable analytics and self-service reporting.
  • Advise business stakeholders on best practices for process redesign and system utilization that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and cut operating costs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to support project justification and prioritization, including estimates for development, licensing, operational support, and training.
  • Act as liaison between business users and technical teams during the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring clarity of requirements, validating deliverables, and providing ongoing product feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies as a product analyst or technical proxy—writing user stories, refining backlog items, and accepting sprint deliverables to ensure alignment to business needs.
  • Maintain a backlog of system enhancement requests, performing triage and prioritization based on business value, risk, and complexity.
  • Mentor junior analysts and cross-train team members on systems, reporting, and best-practice analysis techniques to build organizational capability.
  • Drive continuous improvement by collecting user feedback, measuring system adoption, and proposing iterative enhancements to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team.
  • Provide shift-left guidance by enabling business users with self-service reporting tools and training to reduce support ticket volume.
  • Assist security and compliance teams during audits by producing required system evidence and facilitating remediation activities.
  • Maintain relationships with third-party vendors and managed service providers to ensure timely escalations and SLA adherence.
