Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive market, competitor, and technology landscape analyses to identify white spaces, disruptive trends, and strategic opportunities that align with corporate priorities and long‑term strategy.
  • Design and facilitate ideation workshops, co‑creation sessions, and design sprints with cross‑functional stakeholders to generate validated concepts and prioritize initiatives based on strategic impact and feasibility.
  • Develop robust business cases, including revenue models, cost estimates, TAM/SAM/SOM calculations, and sensitivity analyses to quantify potential value, ROI, and break‑even timelines for new products, services, and partnerships.
  • Lead customer discovery efforts using a mix of qualitative interviews, ethnographic research, surveys, and usability testing to surface unarticulated needs and validate problem–solution fit.
  • Build and maintain innovation roadmaps and a prioritized experiment backlog that balances short‑term quick wins and long‑term strategic plays; communicate status, results, and next steps to stakeholders.
  • Design, launch, and manage experiments and pilots (MVPs, prototypes, A/B tests), define success metrics, monitor performance, and iterate quickly based on real user feedback and data.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights using SQL, Excel, Python/R, or business intelligence tools; produce executive‑grade dashboards and narratives to support decision making.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to convert hypotheses into prototypes and production‑ready solutions while ensuring the experiment design yields statistically meaningful results.
  • Manage external relationships with startups, accelerators, academic partners, and vendors; scope partnerships, run due diligence and pilot agreements, and evaluate strategic fit for scaling.
  • Conduct patent and IP landscaping and advise on opportunities to protect differentiating technologies or inform go‑to‑market timing and positioning.
  • Track regulatory and policy developments relevant to innovation initiatives, assess impact on product feasibility, and recommend mitigations or alternative strategies.
  • Prepare and present compelling presentations and reports for senior leadership and cross‑functional steering committees to secure funding, resourcing, and executive buy‑in.
  • Create and manage project plans, budgets, and resource allocations for innovation pilots, ensuring timelines, milestones, and deliverables are met within scope and cost constraints.
  • Implement and institutionalize repeatable innovation frameworks and toolkits (Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Jobs‑to‑Be‑Done) to scale capability across the organization.
  • Synthesize learnings from failed experiments and pilots into organizational knowledge; capture best practices and playbooks to improve speed and outcomes of future innovation work.
  • Perform scenario planning, risk assessment, and sensitivity testing to evaluate alternative strategies and advise stakeholders on trade‑offs and contingency plans.
  • Monitor performance metrics for new initiatives (adoption rates, retention, CAC, LTV, conversion funnels) and iterate product and go‑to‑market tactics to optimize business outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional delivery, resolve dependencies, and remove blockers for pilots and early launches; act as a hub for communication across product, engineering, legal, finance, and marketing.
  • Lead go‑to‑market readiness activities for validated concepts including positioning, pricing recommendations, channel selection, and pilot marketing campaigns.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and change management activities to drive internal adoption of new capabilities or processes introduced by innovation initiatives.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date library of market research, case studies, experiment outcomes, and vendor evaluations to accelerate future discovery and prioritization.
  • Support strategic investment decisions by preparing material for venture or corporate venture teams, including market sizing, competitive landscape, and pilot outcomes to inform scaling decisions.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and machine learning partnerships where appropriate to surface patterns, personalize offerings, or automate aspects of experimental validation.

Secondary Functions

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Market research & competitive intelligence: ability to run primary and secondary research, synthesize findings, and produce actionable insights.
  • Quantitative analysis: strong Excel modeling, financial modeling, and experience with SQL; familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
  • Experimentation & hypothesis testing: design of A/B tests, pilot programs, and MVP validation frameworks with sound KPI definitions and statistical reasoning.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
