Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end ideation sprints and design thinking workshops, preparing agendas, facilitation materials, and follow-up artifacts to ensure timely progress and stakeholder alignment.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative market research and opportunity scans to identify user pain points, market gaps, competitive threats, and commercial viability for new product concepts.
  • Translate research insights into concise innovation briefs, problem statements, user journey maps, and prioritized opportunity backlogs that inform prototyping and experimentation.
  • Support rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept (POC) development by creating wireframes, low-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma, Miro, or basic front-end frameworks, then coordinating technical resources for build iterations.
  • Design and operate pilot programs and early adopter tests, including user recruitment, study protocols, success metrics, and real-world data collection to evaluate viability and scalability.
  • Prepare business cases, ROI scenarios, and go/no-go recommendations that balance user desirability, technical feasibility, and business viability for senior leadership review.
  • Maintain an innovation pipeline and roadmap that tracks idea stage, experiment results, resource needs, and commercialization milestones to facilitate prioritization and resourcing decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, legal, compliance, and marketing to de-risk experiments and accelerate time-to-insight while ensuring company policies and regulatory constraints are respected.
  • Create clear, persuasive presentations and executive summaries that translate experimental findings and product hypotheses into actionable decisions for stakeholders and funding committees.
  • Track and report innovation KPIs (e.g., experiment velocity, conversion rates, pilot retention, revenue potential) and synthesize learnings into repeatable playbooks and innovation best practices.
  • Assist with intellectual property assessments, documentation, and handoffs to product or legal teams to protect novel concepts and ensure proper governance.
  • Manage vendor relationships and external partnerships (startups, universities, labs) required for experiments, including scoping, contracting, and performance tracking.
  • Facilitate user research sessions, usability tests, and ethnographic interviews to validate assumptions and iterate on solution concepts with real users.
  • Act as the project manager for small-scale innovation projects: build timelines, allocate tasks, monitor risks, and keep cross-functional teams accountable to sprint goals.
  • Curate and maintain a repository of research assets, experiment templates, user personas, and market intelligence to accelerate future innovation initiatives.
  • Support commercialization and launch readiness by coordinating pilot scaling plans, go-to-market activities, pricing experiments, and stakeholder training materials.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation by coaching teams on hypothesis-driven development, A/B testing basics, and minimum viable product (MVP) approaches.
  • Monitor industry and technology trends (AI/ML, IoT, blockchain, immersive tech) and summarize potential business impacts and quick-win opportunities for internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate budget tracking for innovation programs, ensuring experiments are run within allocated spend and generating transparent ROI reporting.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for innovation governance forums, preparing materials, capturing decisions, and driving follow-through actions post-review.
  • Refine and iterate internal innovation processes (intake, scoring, stage-gate criteria) to reduce friction, accelerate validated learning, and improve conversion of ideas into funded pilots.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for hackathons, innovation challenges, and internal incubator cohorts, including participant communications, judging criteria, and post-event evaluation.
  • Collect and synthesize feedback from pilots and early customers into prioritized backlog items and product enhancement recommendations for development teams.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Experience building low- to mid-fidelity prototypes using Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or rapid prototyping tools.
  • Competence in user research methods: interview scripting, usability testing, survey design, and qualitative analysis.
  • Basic data literacy: ability to analyze experiment results, interpret A/B test outputs, and summarize quantitative insights in Excel/Sheets or basic SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with product management tools and roadmapping platforms such as Jira, Asana, Trello, Productboard, or Aha!
  • Experience running pilot programs and field tests, including designing success criteria and coordinating logistics.
  • Working knowledge of go-to-market fundamentals, business case development, and basic financial modeling for ROI estimates.
  • Ability to create professional slide decks and executive summaries in PowerPoint/Google Slides that clearly communicate recommendations and next steps.
  • Experience with collaboration and workshop tools (Miro, MURAL, Notion, Confluence) for co-creation and documentation.
  • Knowledge of technology trends (AI, ML, IoT, AR/VR) and their practical application in product use cases.
  • Familiarity with basic front-end prototyping or rapid build tools (Webflow, Bubble, Glide) is a plus.
  • Understanding of IP basics, regulatory constraints, and data privacy considerations relevant to pilot testing.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
