Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead cross-functional ideation workshops (design sprints, hackathons, and co-creation sessions) to generate and prioritize new product, service, and business model concepts aligned to strategic objectives and measurable KPIs.
  • Design and execute innovation roadmaps that translate strategy into sequenced experiments, pilots, and scalable product releases while defining success metrics and decision gates.
  • Conduct deep market, customer and competitive research—combining qualitative user interviews, ethnography, and quantitative analysis—to validate assumptions and uncover unmet needs that inform value propositions.
  • Create robust business cases and financial models for new initiatives, quantifying TAM/SAM/SOM, revenue mechanisms, unit economics, and investment requirements to inform executive investment decisions.
  • Rapidly prototype product and service concepts (low- to high-fidelity) using tools such as Figma, paper prototyping or no-code platforms to test desirability and feasibility with real users.
  • Plan, run, and analyze structured experiments (A/B tests, prototype testing, pilot launches) to iterate on product hypotheses, optimize value propositions, and de-risk scaling decisions.
  • Manage end-to-end pilots and proof-of-concepts with partner vendors, internal engineering squads, and external startups—ensuring delivery, data capture, and evaluation against predefined metrics.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment and governance: prepare board/executive-ready presentations, lead steering committees, and secure buy-in for funded pilots and scaling recommendations.
  • Implement open innovation programs: scout startups, run accelerator engagements or partnerships, negotiate commercial terms and integrate external capabilities into the corporate ecosystem.
  • Translate research and prototype results into actionable product requirements and roadmaps in collaboration with product managers, engineers, and UX teams to ensure smooth handoffs to delivery squads.
  • Advise on organizational capability building—designing training programs, innovation toolkits, and playbooks to embed discovery practices (design thinking, lean startup) across business units.
  • Establish and track innovation KPIs (experiment velocity, conversion rates, customer adoption, ROI) and build dashboards to report progress and learnings to senior leadership.
  • Lead cross-disciplinary teams in ambiguous environments, resolving dependencies and risks across legal, compliance, operations, and IT to progress pilots and commercialization.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for validated innovations, including pricing, channel strategy, marketing positioning, and partner enablement to support initial launches and scaling.
  • Conduct technology and feasibility assessments (integration complexity, data requirements, engineering effort) to inform scope, time-to-market and technical risk mitigation plans.
  • Define minimum viable product (MVP) scopes and success criteria that balance speed-to-market with learnings necessary for informed product decisions.
  • Capture and synthesize insights from pilots into playbooks and scaling frameworks that enable rapid replication across geographies or business units.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, IP considerations, and commercial relationships with startups, vendors, and ecosystem partners to ensure favorable terms and strategic alignment.
  • Coach and mentor product, design, and business teams in discovery techniques, facilitation, hypothesis-driven experimentation, and storytelling to increase organizational innovation maturity.
  • Design and deliver executive workshops and scenario planning sessions to explore long-term trends (technology, regulatory, and customer shifts) and adjust strategic priorities accordingly.
  • Lead post-launch performance reviews and post-mortems to extract learnings, reallocate resources, and inform the continuous improvement of the innovation portfolio.
  • Drive cultural change initiatives to increase appetite for experimentation, safer failure, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Design, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s degree or MBA, or specialized post-graduate certificate in Innovation, Design Strategy, Product Management, or Entrepreneurship.
