Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Own and drive the global innovation strategy and roadmap, aligning initiatives to company objectives and translating strategic priorities into measurable innovation programs.
- Lead end-to-end ideation and discovery sessions using design thinking and human-centered design to uncover viable opportunities and prioritize them against business impact and feasibility.
- Build, test, and iterate rapid prototypes and minimum viable products (MVPs) to validate hypotheses with users and internal stakeholders, collecting quantitative and qualitative feedback for decision-making.
- Design, manage and scale pilot programs from concept through evaluation, defining success criteria, KPIs, timelines, resource needs and go/no-go decision gates.
- Develop robust business cases and financial models for new initiatives, including revenue projections, cost estimates, investment needs, and profitability scenarios to secure executive sponsorship and budget.
- Lead cross-functional squads (product, engineering, UX, data, legal, marketing and operations) to deliver prototypes and pilots on time and within budget using agile methodologies.
- Create and manage an innovation pipeline and stage-gate process to ensure timely progression of projects from discovery through commercialization and growth phases.
- Scout, evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (AI/ML, IoT, blockchain, AR/VR, edge computing) to identify strategic opportunities and technical feasibility for new products or services.
- Build and manage external partnerships with startups, accelerators, universities, vendors and innovation hubs to augment internal capability and accelerate time-to-market.
- Design and operate corporate venture and incubator activities, including structuring equity deals, joint ventures, pilot agreements, and startup investments where applicable.
- Drive commercialization planning and go-to-market strategies for validated innovations, coordinating product launch, channel strategy, pricing and adoption plans with GTM teams.
- Establish governance, risk, compliance and IP strategy for innovation initiatives, ensuring legal and regulatory requirements are considered early in the development lifecycle.
- Measure and report on innovation performance through a clear set of KPIs (ROI, adoption rate, time-to-market, ARR from new products, pilot conversion rate) and present outcomes to senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders.
- Influence and secure executive sponsorship and cross-functional buy-in for innovation initiatives through compelling storytelling, data-driven insights and persuasive business cases.
- Develop and manage innovation budgets, allocating resources efficiently across discovery, prototyping and scaling phases while tracking burn and ROI.
- Embed a culture of experimentation and continuous learning across the organization by running workshops, hackathons, innovation sprints and training sessions in design thinking and lean startup principles.
- Mentor and grow a high-performing innovation team, setting clear objectives, career development plans and hiring priorities to build capability across product, design and technology.
- Lead competitor and market intelligence to identify white-space opportunities, threats and macro trends that influence strategic direction and product roadmaps.
- Coordinate customer discovery and user research programs to ensure product hypotheses are validated with target customers and to reduce market risk for new initiatives.
- Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with technology vendors, partners and service providers to ensure favorable terms and alignment to program objectives.
- Champion change management activities required to adopt and scale new products and processes, working closely with operational teams to remove adoption barriers.
- Oversee pilot-to-scale transitions including operational readiness, support models, metrics handover and continuous product improvement loops.
- Drive data-driven decision-making by partnering with analytics teams to define instrumentation, experimentation frameworks (A/B testing) and success metrics for new offerings.
- Represent the organization at industry events, investor meetings and partner forums to raise the profile of the company’s innovation agenda and attract strategic partners.

Educational Background
