Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct comprehensive site surveys and pre-installation assessments to identify structural, electrical, network, and environmental requirements; produce accurate material lists, site diagrams, and risk assessments to support quoting and scheduling.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and manufacturer installation manuals to plan and execute installations that comply with project requirements and local codes.
- Install, assemble, mount and secure mechanical and electrical equipment (e.g., HVAC units, racks, sensors, antennas, solar panels, security systems, appliances) using hand and power tools while following manufacturer torque and clearance specifications.
- Run, terminate, and test low-voltage and power cabling, structured network cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Coax), and conduit in accordance with industry standards and quality expectations.
- Configure, program, and commission electronic systems and networked devices (routers, switches, controllers, PLCs, gateways) including IPv4 addressing, DHCP/static assignment, VLANs, and basic routing as required for initial operation.
- Perform functional testing, calibration, and verification of installed systems using meters, oscilloscopes, signal testers, and diagnostic software; document test results and remedial actions taken.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation-related faults on-site, including electrical, mechanical, and network issues, escalating complex problems to engineering teams with clear diagnostic data and replication steps.
- Ensure installations meet applicable electrical, fire, safety, and building codes; obtain necessary permits and coordinate inspections with authorities having jurisdiction when required.
- Prepare detailed installation reports, as-built drawings, photographs, and handover documentation for client acceptance and internal records using CRM or ERP systems.
- Provide end-user training and customer orientation at completion of installation to demonstrate operation, maintenance, and safety features; deliver user manuals and service contact information.
- Coordinate logistics for field installations including ordering materials, staging equipment, verifying inventory, and ensuring tools and vehicles are properly stocked and maintained.
- Schedule and manage site access, permits, and third-party contractors/subcontractors to minimize downtime and ensure smooth installation workflow.
- Execute preventive maintenance and warranty service visits related to recent installations, documenting findings and recommending corrective or upgrade actions to customers and service teams.
- Follow corporate health and safety programs, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and maintain compliance with site-specific safety plans.
- Apply quality control measures during installation to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and project milestones; perform post-installation checks and customer sign-off procedures.
- Capture and report field data, time on task, and material consumption in company systems to enable accurate invoicing and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Drive company vehicles between sites; adhere to fleet safety policies, complete vehicle inspection checklists, and report any accidents or incidents immediately.
