Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Lead, mentor and supervise multi-disciplinary installation teams (technicians, apprentices, subcontractors) across multiple active sites, ensuring teams are productive, safe and compliant with company policies and client requirements.
- Plan and schedule installation work packages, allocate labor and equipment, and adjust resources dynamically to meet shifting project timelines and priorities while minimizing downtime and cost overruns.
- Develop and maintain detailed project installation plans, site-specific risk assessments, method statements (SWMS), and work sequences to ensure consistent, predictable execution.
- Conduct site surveys, pre-installation checks and coordination meetings with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to confirm scope, access, utilities, hoisting/crane needs and technical prerequisites.
- Own onsite health, safety and environmental compliance, enforce PPE requirements, run toolbox talks and safety inspections, investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to maintain a zero-harm culture.
- Manage the end-to-end commissioning and acceptance processes, coordinating testing, validation, punch-list closure and sign-off with clients and technical teams to ensure installations meet performance and contractual standards.
- Oversee material and equipment logistics for installations, including staging, receiving, inventory control of spare parts, return-to-vendor processes and on-site asset tracking to avoid delays and shortages.
- Serve as the principal onsite client contact, proactively communicate progress, manage expectations, negotiate scope clarifications and drive high customer satisfaction throughout installation and closeout.
- Monitor installation quality using checklists, audits and field inspections; implement non-conformance reporting and corrective action plans to continuously raise installation standards.
- Manage subcontractor selection, scope of work, performance oversight and invoicing to ensure contractual compliance, schedule adherence and cost control.
- Track and report project KPIs — schedule variance, installation productivity, safety metrics, cost-to-complete — delivering regular status updates to project leadership and finance.
- Prepare, review and control installation budgets and change orders; escalate financially material scope changes and recommend mitigations to maintain profitability.
- Coordinate cross-functional dependencies with engineering, procurement, commissioning and service teams for timely delivery of documentation, spare parts and technical support.
- Implement standardized installation processes, playbooks and SOPs; drive continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, Kaizen) to reduce rework, waste and installation hours.
- Conduct performance reviews, hire and onboard field personnel, manage shift rotations and career development plans to build a resilient and high-performing installation workforce.
- Resolve complex technical or site logistics issues by facilitating field engineering support, making on-the-spot decisions or escalating appropriately to minimize schedule risk.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of installation documentation including as-built drawings, handover packs, warranties, certificates and commissioning reports for client handover and audit trails.
- Coordinate permitting, site access, local authority inspections and compliance documentation to avoid regulatory delays and safeguard project delivery.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through optimized route planning, crew utilization, vendor consolidation and improved material staging techniques.
- Lead post-installation support and warranty workflows, coordinate corrective field actions, root cause analysis and preventive measures to reduce repeat failures and claims.
- Maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships to secure priority deliveries, technical escalation paths and favorable commercial terms for critical installation materials.
- Facilitate remote and on-site technical training for technicians and clients to ensure proper operation, maintenance and handover of installed systems.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)

- Technical proficiency with mechanical, electrical, and/or systems installation principles relevant to company products (equipment, cabling, racks, PLCs, HVAC, etc.).
- Familiarity with commissioning, testing protocols, and acceptance criteria for installed systems.

Education & Experience
Educational Background
Minimum Education:
- Associate degree, trade certification, or equivalent vocational qualification in a technical discipline (electrical, mechanical, construction, telecommunications) combined with field experience.
