- Prepare and deliver concise oral briefings and visual slide decks to mission owners and leadership, highlighting key observations, risk implications, recommended actions, and confidence statements.
- Support geospatial intelligence tasks by creating and annotating maps, plotting events and locations, and producing basic GEOINT overlays using ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
- Execute structured analytic techniques (e.g., ACH, Analysis of Competing Hypotheses, link charting) to reduce bias and increase rigor in assessments and alternative forecasting.
- Maintain, update, and curate intelligence databases, watchlists, and knowledge repositories to ensure current situational awareness and repeatable analytic workflows.
- Conduct link analysis and network mapping to identify relationships between entities, actors, and events using tools such as Maltego, Analyst’s Notebook, or open-source visualization libraries.
- Perform basic signals and metadata analysis support by extracting and organizing relevant metadata, timestamps, and geolocation hints for downstream SIGINT or technical teams.
- Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations (Power BI, Tableau, or custom Python dashboards) that display key performance indicators (KPIs), trending metrics, and alerting thresholds for stakeholders.
- Support the production of finished intelligence products by integrating multi-source reporting, technical findings, and subject matter expertise into a cohesive operational narrative.
- Monitor targeted areas, keywords, and adversary TTP (tactics, techniques, procedures) to generate timely alerts, escalation memos, and incident packages for incident response or mitigation teams.
- Assist in preparing tasking packages for collection teams and external partners, translating analytic requirements into prioritized collection objectives and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct translation triage and foreign-language content assessment (when applicable), escalating verified leads to linguists or specialized analysts for full translation and exploitation.
- Apply basic scripting (Python, PowerShell) to automate repetitive collection tasks, parse large datasets, and extract entities for enrichment and analysis.
- Query and analyze structured data using SQL to support trend analysis, anomalies detection, and hypothesis validation across relational data stores.
- Contribute to the intelligence tradecraft by documenting analytic methodologies, writing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and participating in after-action reviews to capture lessons learned.
- Ensure all intelligence products and handling of sensitive information comply with organizational policies, privacy laws, and classification guidelines; support record-keeping and chain-of-custody procedures.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners (cyber, legal, operations, external agencies, and private-sector data providers) to enrich analytic products and validate findings.
- Perform quality assurance and peer review of subordinate analytic products, ensuring accuracy, appropriate sourcing, and that findings include clear assumptions and confidence statements.
- Maintain situational awareness of global geopolitical, economic, and technological developments relevant to assigned portfolios and proactively share timely assessments.
- Provide ad-hoc analytic support for task forces, working groups, or special projects, including focused research, rapid assessments, and tailored intelligence briefs under tight deadlines.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis.
- Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap.
- Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements.
- Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering team.
- Train junior personnel and interns on collection methods, analytic tools, and tradecraft best practices.
- Assist with vendor evaluations and tool procurement by documenting operational requirements and use-case scenarios.
- Support compliance audits and internal reviews for data handling, retention, and classification.
