- Create high-fidelity interactive prototypes in Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch that demonstrate motion, micro-interactions and responsive behavior for stakeholder review and usability testing.
- Build accessible, responsive front-end components and landing pages optimized for performance, SEO, and cross‑browser compatibility across desktop and mobile devices.
- Implement interactive storytelling and rich media experiences (animated infographics, parallax, scroll-triggered effects, canvas/WebGL) that improve engagement and time-on-page.
- Collaborate with product managers and UX researchers to translate user insights, personas and journey maps into prioritized interactive features and measurable objectives.
- Integrate front-end code with APIs, headless CMSs (e.g., Contentful, Sanity) or enterprise CMS platforms (AEM, WordPress) to enable dynamic data-driven experiences.
- Apply motion design principles to create meaningful micro-interactions and transitions using CSS animations, SVG animations, Lottie or JavaScript animation libraries to guide user attention and improve usability.
- Maintain and contribute to a reusable component library and design system (style guides, tokens, interaction patterns) to ensure consistency and accelerate production across projects.
- Conduct usability testing and iterate on interactive prototypes based on qualitative feedback and quantitative metrics to improve task completion and conversion rates.
- Implement analytics, event tracking and tagging (Google Analytics, GTM, Mixpanel) to measure interaction performance, A/B tests and the impact of design changes on KPIs.
- Execute A/B and multivariate tests in collaboration with CRO teams to validate interaction hypotheses and maximize engagement, retention and conversions.
- Optimize assets and code for fast load times: lazy-loading, image optimization, code splitting and performance budgets to meet Core Web Vitals targets.
- Ensure all interactive experiences meet WCAG accessibility standards (semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, ARIA roles, color contrast) and collaborate with QA to remediate issues.
- Work with photographers, illustrators, video producers and motion designers to integrate multimedia assets into interactive builds while maintaining visual fidelity and page performance.
- Troubleshoot and debug cross-browser, cross-device issues in production, perform QA and maintain version control (Git) for all interactive deliverables.
- Provide estimates, scope interactive work, and manage deliverables in Agile workflows—participating in sprint planning, daily standups and retrospectives.
- Evangelize best practices for interaction design, front-end development, performance and accessibility across product and marketing teams through demos, documentation and training sessions.
- Create documentation and handoff materials for developers, content editors and stakeholders that explain interaction logic, accessibility considerations and integration points.
- Collaborate with SEO and content teams to ensure interactive content is crawlable or provides accessible fallbacks, and to optimize metadata and structured data for discovery.
- Monitor post-launch performance and user behavior using heatmaps, session recordings and analytics to identify opportunities for iterative improvement.
- Mentor junior designers and front-end developers on interaction patterns, front-end engineering practices and accessibility implementation details.
- Support production of experiential and hybrid projects (interactive installations, kiosk experiences, AR/VR prototypes) by developing front-end connectors, lightweight Unity/Three.js integrations or web XR demonstrations.
- Manage vendor relationships for specialized interactive work (e.g., WebGL studios, animation houses) ensuring deliverables align with technical constraints and UX goals.
- Drive cross-functional workshops (storyboarding, design sprints, prototyping sessions) to rapidly explore and validate new interactive concepts.
Secondary Functions
- Support marketing and campaign teams by building modular interactive components for email, social landing pages and paid campaign microsites.
- Contribute to the interactive roadmap by identifying technical debt, component improvements and opportunities for innovation.
- Assist analytics and data teams by documenting event taxonomy and resolving tracking discrepancies for interactive elements.
- Produce annotated handoff files and style documentation to reduce rework and speed implementation by engineering teams.
- Participate in accessibility audits and remediate legacy interactive patterns that fail to meet WCAG or legal compliance.
- Provide on-call support for urgent production incidents related to interactive experiences and coordinate quick rollbacks or hotfixes when necessary.
