Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Own end-to-end interest calculation and posting processes for assigned portfolios, ensuring daily/periodic accruals are calculated accurately according to product rules and contractual terms.
  • Reconcile system-generated interest accruals and interest income with general ledger accounts and vendor reports on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis, identifying and documenting root causes of variance.
  • Investigate, document and resolve interest exceptions and discrepancies raised by customers, internal teams or auditors, coordinating corrective postings and communicating outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver standardized and ad-hoc interest reports (accrual schedules, interest income analysis, exception logs) to finance, product and senior leadership with clear commentary and recommended actions.
  • Maintain and update interest calculation rules, rate tables and configuration in core systems and spreadsheets to reflect pricing changes, promotional rates, and regulatory adjustments.
  • Process manual interest adjustments, reversals and one-time interest credits in accordance with internal controls and approval workflows; record all adjustments with audit-ready documentation.
  • Manage interest rate change implementations and retroactive corrections by validating bulk system updates, running impact analyses, and coordinating with IT/product teams for deployment and rollback if needed.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities tied to interest income and accruals, including journal entry preparation, variance analysis and timely sign-offs with accounting.
  • Monitor and escalate interest-related operational risks, trends and recurring issues; propose and lead process improvement initiatives to reduce error rates and cycle times.
  • Act as the central coordinator between customer service, collections, product, treasury and third-party vendors to ensure consistent interest handling practices and rapid resolution of disputes.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance reviews of interest calculations and reconciliations performed by teammates or vendors, providing feedback and re-training where necessary.
  • Build and maintain structured procedures, runbooks and knowledge base articles for interest workflows, ensuring continuity and knowledge transfer across the team.
  • Validate third-party vendor interest reports and calculations (servicers, payment processors, custodians), and coordinate remediation when vendor data does not align with internal records.
  • Support compliance reviews and external audits by providing detailed audit trails, reconciliations and explanations of interest treatment, adjustments and exceptions.
  • Implement and maintain automation and tooling (scripts, macros, scheduled reports) to streamline repetitive interest calculations and reconciliation tasks, working closely with data engineering or IT when required.
  • Provide training and onboarding for new hires and cross-functional partners on interest processes, system functions and exception handling protocols.
  • Track and reconcile interest-related customer refunds, chargebacks and dispute outcomes, ensuring appropriate ledger impact and customer communications.
  • Generate forecast models and scenario-based analyses to project interest income and accrual impacts under rate change scenarios and portfolio composition shifts.
  • Liaise with legal and compliance teams to interpret contractual terms and regulatory requirements relating to interest calculation, disclosure and consumer rights, ensuring operational adherence.
  • Manage and prioritize incoming interest-related inquiries from high-value customers and internal stakeholders, delivering timely, accurate and professional responses.
  • Maintain data integrity by conducting periodic account sweeps and sampling tests to verify that interest has been applied correctly across account types and platforms.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional projects including product launches, migrations, system upgrades and rate table reorganizations where interest calculation logic is affected.
  • Track performance metrics (cycle time, error rate, reconciliation lead time) and present continuous improvement plans tied to KPIs and SLA achievement.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal controls and approval matrices for interest adjustments and manual postings to prevent fraud and maintain audit readiness.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
