Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Review, evaluate, and take action on user-generated content (text, images, video, audio) across web and mobile platforms in accordance with company policies, community standards, and legal requirements, ensuring consistent and impartial enforcement.
- Interpret ambiguous or novel content and apply policy judgment to decide between removal, warning, demotion, or leaving content live; document rationale to support consistent precedent-setting.
- Triage high-priority incidents (harassment, self-harm, child exploitation, illegal activity) and escalate to Trust & Safety, Legal, or Law Enforcement teams immediately following escalation protocols and chain-of-custody procedures.
- Respond to user appeals and re-review content decisions, producing clear, policy-based justifications and updating case notes to improve appeal throughput and accuracy.
- Monitor live feeds, comments, and community interactions for real-time violations and intervene to de-escalate conversations by issuing warnings, removing content, and applying temporary or permanent sanctions to accounts when necessary.
- Collaborate with policy and product teams to surface recurring content patterns, edge cases, and gaps in existing rules—contributing evidence and sample cases to inform policy updates and product changes.
- Use moderation platforms and dashboards to tag, categorize, and annotate content for downstream analytics and machine learning training datasets to improve automated detection systems.
- Execute daily and weekly KPI targets for throughput, accuracy, and quality assurance metrics while balancing speed with correctness in high-volume moderation environments.
- Provide high-quality, actionable feedback to machine learning and engineering teams by flagging false positives/negatives and creating labeled datasets for model retraining and evaluation.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of peer moderation decisions, maintain calibration with team standards, and deliver constructive coaching to improve moderation consistency.
