Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct full pre-flight inspections and aircraft acceptance checks on turbine-powered business jets, verifying airworthiness, reviewing maintenance logs, confirming fuel and oil quantities, and validating required equipment for planned flights.
- Perform comprehensive flight planning, including route selection, fuel planning and reserve calculations, weight & balance computations, NOTAM/airspace checks, alternate airports, and performance assessment considering temperature, runway, and obstacle constraints.
- Operate the aircraft as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command, following company SOPs, sterile cockpit procedures, and CRM principles while maintaining situational awareness throughout all phases of flight.
- File and manage IFR/VFR flight plans with ATC, monitor flight progress, execute clearances, and adjust plans for weather, traffic or operational constraints while keeping dispatch and passengers informed.
- Execute instrument approaches, departures and en route procedures using FMS, autopilot, navigation radios and avionics suites common to corporate jets, ensuring precision and compliance with procedures.
- Monitor aircraft systems, engines and avionics in flight, identify abnormal indications early, perform checklist-driven troubleshooting, and coordinate with maintenance and dispatch to mitigate issues.
- Conduct safe and efficient normal and emergency procedures, including engine failure, smoke/fumes, rapid decompression, emergency descents and diversion decision-making, implementing company and regulatory checklists.
- Maintain detailed flight records, logbooks and electronic records for pilot duty times, aircraft hours, maintenance squawks and regulatory requirements; ensure accurate and timely submission to flight operations.
- Coordinate with ground handling, fuel providers, de-icing teams, and FBOs to ensure on-time departures, correct fueling, secure parking and high-standard passenger handling and ground services.
- Provide professional customer service to passengers and charter clients, including pre-flight briefings, safety briefings, handling special requests, ensuring confidentiality and creating a premium travel experience.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with FAA (or applicable national authority) regulations, including currency, duty/rest rules, training requirements and compliance with ops specifications and air carrier manuals.
- Participate in and lead crew briefings and debriefs, communicating flight risks, weather, NOTAMS, passenger requirements and any deviations from planned operations to ensure shared mental models.
- Complete recurrent training, simulator sessions and proficiency checks, maintain type ratings and instrument currency, and implement lessons learned into everyday operating practices.
- Coordinate maintenance actions by creating precise squawk reports, facilitating troubleshooting with maintenance personnel or contracted AMOs, and supervising rectification of issues to minimize downtime and ensure airworthiness.
- Execute weight-and-balance planning for varied passenger/cargo configurations, calculate CG limits, and advise clients on baggage/cargo distribution to maintain flight safety and legal weight limits.
- Conduct post-flight inspections, secure aircraft, complete post-operational paperwork, document deferred maintenance items and ensure aircraft readiness for the next operation.
- Manage crew scheduling constraints and personal duty-time records in partnership with flight operations to optimize crew utilization while complying with regulatory duty and rest rules.
- Implement and improve operational SOPs, safety management system (SMS) inputs and standardization initiatives designed to reduce risk, improve on-time performance, and enhance service quality.
- Respond to operational irregularities and disruptions (weather cancellations, aircraft unserviceability, crew substitutions), quickly evaluating solutions, coordinating stakeholders and communicating changes to passengers.
- Support aerial security and confidentiality requirements for VIP and corporate flights, adhering to company privacy protocols, secure handling of manifests and coordination with security teams.
- Conduct cross-functional coordination with charter sales, client relations, and logistics teams to ensure smooth door-to-door client experiences and support business development through reliable operations.
- Maintain professional demeanor and appearance at all times, uphold company brand standards while interacting with clients, FBO staff, regulators and third-party vendors.
Secondary Functions

- Attend regular operations meetings to review safety metrics, on-time performance, maintenance trends and passenger feedback; suggest actionable improvements.
- Help maintain and update operations manuals, checklists and training syllabi to reflect regulatory changes and industry best practices.
- Serve as a company representative during audits and third-party inspections, ensuring documentation completeness and demonstrating adherence to SOPs and SMS policies.
- Provide light aircraft servicing as needed (fueling verification, basic lavatory servicing oversight, cabin checks) to expedite turnarounds while ensuring vendor compliance.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or country-equivalent high-level pilot license; Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with multi-engine and instrument ratings when applicable.

Education & Experience
Educational Background
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of accredited pilot training program or flight school preferred.
