  • Maintain personal flight currency and instructor qualifications through regular flying, recurrent training, and participation in evaluation programs to remain an effective role model and instructor.
  • Conduct safety investigations and contribute to root-cause analyses when training incidents occur, providing recommendations to reduce recurrence and improve training safeguards.
  • Implement and champion modern instructional techniques (blended learning, VR/AR adjuncts, adaptive training technologies) to increase training efficiency and retention.
  • Provide logistical and administrative oversight for course scheduling, student selection, resource allocation, and budget inputs related to flight training programs.

Secondary Functions

  • Support cross-functional initiatives with operations, maintenance, and engineering to improve aircraft availability and simulator fidelity for training continuity.
  • Assist in producing technical publications, mission guides, and student handbooks to standardize knowledge transfer and mission preparation across the unit.
  • Participate in outreach and recruiting efforts to attract experienced aviators and instructor candidates to the training program.
  • Provide expertise for contractor-run training programs, including audit support, QA assessments, and curriculum handover during transition phases.
  • Help implement and refine performance-tracking dashboards and KPI metrics (mission success rate, pass/fail trends, safety events) for leadership review and workforce planning.
