Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Actively approach and engage with clients on the sales floor to build natural rapport and understand their unique needs, preferences, and the special occasions they are celebrating.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the brand's history, the artisan's craftsmanship, and the unique stories behind each jewelry collection to share compelling narratives with clients.
  • Master the fundamental product details, including the 4Cs of diamonds (cut, color, clarity, carat), characteristics of various gemstones, and properties of precious metals.
  • Confidently present and demonstrate a wide range of fine jewelry, articulating the features, benefits, and intrinsic value of each piece with passion and precision.
  • Guide clients through the entire sales journey, from initial discovery and selection to the final purchase, ensuring a seamless, memorable, and personalized luxury experience.
  • Cultivate and nurture long-term client relationships through meticulous and personalized follow-up, such as handwritten thank you notes, anniversary reminders, and curated updates on new arrivals.
  • Diligently manage a personal client book, systematically recording client preferences, purchase history, and key milestones to anticipate future needs and provide proactive, bespoke service.
  • Assist clients with special order requests, bespoke or custom design inquiries, and coordinate repairs, acting as a trusted liaison between the client, management, and the workshop.
  • Strive to achieve and exceed personal and team sales goals by leveraging deep product knowledge, sophisticated clienteling skills, and effective, non-prescriptive sales techniques.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system with exceptional accuracy, processing various types of transactions, returns, and exchanges in strict accordance with company policy.
  • Participate conscientiously in daily store opening and closing procedures, ensuring all security protocols for high-value merchandise are understood and strictly followed.
  • Maintain the visual integrity and luxury ambiance of the showroom by ensuring displays are pristine, well-organized, and merchandised according to brand standards.
  • Handle and care for fine jewelry with the utmost precision and respect, demonstrating proper cleaning and storage techniques to both colleagues and clients.
  • Proactively seek out knowledge on evolving industry trends, competitor activities, and new developments in gemology and jewelry design to remain a credible expert.
  • Support store management with critical inventory management tasks, including the receiving of new shipments, participating in cycle counts, and assisting with annual audits.
  • Participate with enthusiasm in all product knowledge training sessions, team meetings, and professional development workshops to continuously enhance skills and expertise.
  • Address and resolve client concerns or issues with empathy, patience, and professionalism, escalating to management when necessary to guarantee complete client satisfaction.
  • Assist in the detailed planning and flawless execution of in-store events, trunk shows, and client appreciation initiatives designed to drive foot traffic and deepen brand loyalty.
  • Uphold and embody all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to security, loss prevention, client data privacy, and ethical business conduct.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist with daily stock replenishment from the back-of-house to the sales floor, ensuring all items are correctly tagged and displayed.
  • Contribute to maintaining the overall cleanliness, organization, and polished appearance of the entire sales floor, consultation areas, and back-of-house.
  • Support visual merchandising directives by helping to set up new promotional displays and window presentations under the guidance of senior staff or management.
  • Help prepare for and conduct regular inventory counts and audits, ensuring a high degree of accuracy in tracking our valuable assets.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Proficiency in using modern Point of Sale (POS) systems for complex transaction processing.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software for clienteling and follow-up.
  • Foundational knowledge of inventory management systems and stock-checking procedures.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Preferred Education:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is highly desirable.
  • GIA (Gemological Institute of America) certification (e.g., AJP) or active coursework is a significant asset.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 0-2 years of experience in a direct customer-facing role.

Preferred:
