Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Expertly select and source appropriate gemstones and precious metals, advising clients on the characteristics, durability, and value of each option in relation to their design and budget.
Apply a deep, working knowledge of gemology, including the 4Cs, gemstone treatments, and setting suitability, to guide client selections and ensure the longevity of the piece.
Collaborate closely with the production team, including bench jewelers, model makers, stone setters, and polishers, ensuring the design's artistic and technical integrity is maintained throughout fabrication.
Meticulously review and provide constructive feedback on wax models, 3D prints, metal castings, and other prototypes to ensure they meet exact design specifications and quality standards.
Manage a portfolio of multiple custom design projects simultaneously, adhering to strict timelines and production schedules to ensure timely delivery.
Prepare comprehensive technical packets and specification sheets for the production team, detailing all measurements, stone setting instructions, finishing requirements, and other critical details.
Stay informed on emerging trends in fine jewelry, bridal fashion, material science, and manufacturing technologies to inspire innovative and relevant designs.
Provide expert guidance and education to clients on proper jewelry care, material characteristics, and the nuances of their custom piece.
Engineer designs to be structurally sound, comfortable for daily wear, and manufacturable within established cost parameters, solving technical challenges as they arise.
