Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively monitor and analyze the health of the job marketplace, identifying and investigating trends, patterns, and emerging threats related to fraudulent, low-quality, or non-compliant job postings.
  • Develop, refine, and enforce comprehensive content policies and quality standards to ensure a positive and safe user experience for all job seekers.
  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis on quality escalations and incidents, meticulously documenting findings and recommending robust preventative measures to mitigate future risk.
  • Utilize SQL and other data analysis tools to query large, complex datasets, build insightful dashboards, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to job quality, spam detection, and user trust.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to define requirements for, test, and improve automated moderation tools, machine learning models, and internal review systems.
  • Manage and resolve a queue of complex, escalated cases of policy violations, requiring nuanced judgment and a deep, consistent application of our guidelines.
  • Audit and evaluate the quality of job content from various sources, including direct employers, third-party aggregators, and XML feeds, providing actionable feedback to partners and account managers.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of operational procedures, quality guidelines, and policy rationale to ensure consistency and scalability of the quality team's efforts.
  • Spearhead investigations into sophisticated spam and scam networks, using data analysis and open-source intelligence to uncover bad actors and protect the platform.
  • Perform regular quality assurance checks on our search results and recommendation algorithms to ensure relevance and accuracy for job seekers.
  • Design and execute A/B tests or experiments to measure the impact of policy changes or new product features on marketplace quality and user behavior.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on job quality and content policy, providing training and support to internal teams such as Customer Support, Sales, and Account Management.
  • Analyze user feedback, support tickets, and social media mentions to identify systemic quality issues and areas for improvement in our products and policies.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and business reviews on marketplace health and quality initiatives to leadership and key stakeholders.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to assist various departments in understanding quality-related trends.
  • Contribute to the organization's broader trust and safety strategy and policy development roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data and quality needs into actionable engineering and product requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies within the data and operations teams.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor policies, and new fraud tactics to continuously evolve our quality strategy.
  • Assist in the calibration and training of human review teams to ensure high levels of accuracy and consistency in moderation decisions.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • SQL Proficiency: Strong ability to write complex queries for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis from relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, BigQuery).
  • Advanced Spreadsheets: Expertise in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, and data-cleaning functions.
  • Data Visualization: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar) to create insightful reports and dashboards that track key metrics.
  • Scripting Language (Preferred): Basic to intermediate knowledge of a scripting language like Python (with Pandas) or R for data analysis and automation is a significant plus.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 2-5 years in a role involving data analysis, content moderation, trust and safety, or online marketplace operations.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience as a Quality Analyst, Trust & Safety Analyst, or Fraud Analyst, particularly within a tech company, online marketplace, or job board.
  • Demonstrated experience using SQL to inform business decisions and drive operational improvements.
