Primary Functions

- Methodically manage competition weight to safely and effectively make the designated weight category, adhering to healthy nutritional guidelines and anti-doping regulations.
- Conduct extensive video analysis of personal competition and training footage to identify technical flaws, strategic errors, and areas for improvement in collaboration with coaching staff.
- Perform in-depth scouting and analysis of key opponents, studying their technical preferences, strategic patterns, and physical weaknesses to develop specific and effective game plans.
- Collaborate directly with the Head Coach and multidisciplinary support staff (e.g., physiologists, nutritionists, psychologists) to create, implement, and adjust a long-term athlete performance plan.
- Proactively manage and rehabilitate injuries by strictly following medical advice and physiotherapy protocols to ensure a swift and safe return to full training and competition.
- Maintain a comprehensive training and competition log, documenting workouts, randori sessions, nutritional intake, and subjective feelings of wellness to track progress and inform future planning.
- Uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and the Judo Moral Code on and off the tatami, representing the team, sponsors, and nation with integrity and respect.
- Actively participate in team strategy meetings, contributing to a collaborative and positive high-performance environment and providing feedback on training structures and team dynamics.
- Master and continuously adapt to the evolving rules and regulations of the International Judo Federation (IJF), ensuring all techniques and tactics are compliant during competition.
- Develop and implement advanced kumi-kata (grip fighting) strategies to dominate the initial phase of an exchange and set up preferred throwing techniques.
Secondary Functions
