Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Operate semi-automated and manual assembly equipment to piece together jug components according to precise work order specifications.
- Securely attach and tighten caps, lids, pumps, and other closures onto jugs, ensuring a proper and airtight seal to prevent leaks and maintain product integrity.
- Affix labels, sleeves, and other decorative or informational materials to jugs, ensuring correct, straight, and wrinkle-free placement and alignment.
- Perform continuous visual inspections of all components and finished jugs to identify and remove products with defects such as cracks, blemishes, or malformations.
- Carefully pack finished and assembled jugs into designated cartons, cases, or crates, following specific packing configurations and quantity requirements.
- Monitor the flow of materials on the assembly line, ensuring a steady supply of components to your station to avoid production stoppages.
- Handle and transport raw materials and finished goods to and from the workstation using hand trucks or pallet jacks as needed.
- Construct and prepare shipping boxes and containers, ensuring they are properly formed and ready for the packing stage.
- Perform basic quality control tests as directed, such as leak tests or weight checks, and accurately record the results.
- Stack and arrange filled boxes onto pallets according to prescribed patterns, preparing them for stretch wrapping and shipment.
- Ensure that all assembled products meet the established quality assurance standards before they leave the workstation.
- Rotate through different tasks and stations on the assembly line as required by the production schedule and directed by the team lead.
- Maintain a consistent and efficient pace of work to meet or exceed hourly and daily production targets and quotas.
- Accurately count and record the number of units produced, rejected, or reworked during a shift for inventory and performance tracking.
Secondary Functions
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, including the correct and consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area to support a safe and efficient production environment, often following 5S principles.
- Immediately report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, material shortages, or quality issues to the line lead or supervisor.
- Assist with basic machine setup, changeovers, and minor adjustments under the guidance of a technician or line lead.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, machine operators, and quality inspectors to ensure smooth workflow and rapid problem resolution.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions to enhance processes, safety, and efficiency.
- Complete all necessary production-related paperwork and documentation accurately and legibly in a timely manner.
- Assist in the on-the-job training and onboarding of new team members by demonstrating correct procedures and work methods.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
