Primary Functions

  • Strategically forecast short-term and long-term jury needs based on the court's trial calendar, judicial schedules, and historical utilization data to prevent shortages or over-summoning.
  • Manage and maintain the integrity of the master juror source lists, overseeing the process of merging data from various sources like voter registration and DMV records.

  • Serve as the primary public-facing representative for the jury office, professionally and empathetically responding to a wide range of inquiries from the public, jurors, and employers via phone, email, and in person.
  • Ensure all jury-related operations are in strict compliance with local, state, and federal statutes, rules of court, and established internal procedures.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain the court's automated Jury Management System (JMS), serving as a subject matter expert for the software.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute detailed statistical reports on jury system performance, including summons yield, juror utilization, demographic composition, and cost analysis for court leadership.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with other key court stakeholders, including the Clerk of Court's office, judicial chambers, and court security (Sheriff's Department), to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Conduct or participate in community outreach programs to local schools, businesses, and civic groups to educate the public on the importance of jury service.
  • Train and mentor new court staff, temporary employees, or volunteers on jury-related procedures, systems, and customer service protocols.
