Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for interagency communication between police departments, prosecutor’s offices, public defenders, court administrators, probation officers, and community service providers; proactively coordinate case handoffs to reduce delays and improve outcomes.
  • Maintain and update case files, logs, and electronic case management systems (CMS) with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring chain-of-custody, document control, versioning, and audit readiness for investigative and legal review.
  • Conduct comprehensive case screenings and eligibility assessments for diversion programs, pretrial services, reentry supports, and victim compensation, applying statutory criteria and program rules to recommend appropriate interventions.
  • Compile, clean, and analyze multi-source datasets (arrest records, court dispositions, probation reports, treatment provider data) to generate performance metrics, trend analyses, and data visualizations that inform program improvements.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise, evidence-based briefing packets, executive summaries, and slide decks for internal leadership, grantors, and interagency working groups, highlighting operational trends, risk factors, and recommended actions.
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary meetings, case conferences, and collaborative problem-solving sessions, documenting action items, follow-ups, and accountability measures to ensure cross-agency implementation.
  • Track and monitor compliance with grant requirements, contractual deliverables, and federal/state reporting obligations, assembling required documentation and drafting narratives for funding reports and renewals.
  • Support policy analysis by researching statutory requirements, court rules, and best practices in criminal justice reform, drafting memos and policy briefs that guide decision-making and pilot program design.
  • Conduct outreach to victims, witnesses, and communities to communicate available resources, restitution processes, safety planning, and court procedures while maintaining confidentiality and trauma-informed practices.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as rearrest rates, case processing times, recidivism indicators, and program enrollment/retention to assess program efficacy and identify opportunities for system-level improvements.
  • Assist with intake, triage, and referral workflows, ensuring clients receive timely connections to housing, substance use treatment, mental health counseling, employment services, and other social supports.
  • Execute quality assurance reviews and case audits to identify data gaps, process deviations, and documentation inconsistencies; recommend corrective actions and training to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Use GIS tools and spatial analysis to identify hotspots of criminal activity or service deserts and recommend targeted outreach strategies or resource allocation adjustments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of privacy and compliance standards (e.g., CJIS, HIPAA, state criminal record statutes), applying safeguards to data access, storage, and sharing across partner agencies.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with community-based organizations, advocacy groups, and stakeholder networks to support collaborative initiatives, system navigation, and community-informed program design.
  • Draft and edit memoranda of understanding (MOUs), data-sharing agreements, and interagency protocols to codify roles, responsibilities, and data governance practices required for cross-system collaboration.
  • Support pilot programs and implementation projects from planning through rollout and evaluation, coordinating logistics, collecting baseline and follow-up metrics, and documenting lessons learned for scale-up.
  • Provide front-line support for case escalations, crisis interventions, and coordination with emergency responders; ensure rapid information exchange and continuity of care for high-risk individuals.
  • Maintain and administer tracking tools, dashboards, and automated reports using Excel, Power BI, or Tableau to reduce manual reporting burden and deliver real-time insights to program managers.
  • Assist with stakeholder surveys, focus groups, and qualitative interviews, synthesizing findings into actionable recommendations for program design, communications, and policy advocacy.
  • Provide administrative support for courtroom liaisons, subpoena coordination, and documentation requests to ensure timely compliance with legal processes and minimize organizational risk.
