Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Travel to customer residences in a company-provided service vehicle to diagnose and repair a wide array of kitchen appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, ovens, ranges, cooktops, dishwashers, and microwaves.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, multimeters, schematics, and technical manuals to accurately troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic system failures.
- Perform high-quality, lasting repairs by replacing faulty components such as motors, heating elements, control boards, pumps, and compressors.
- Provide customers with clear, non-technical explanations of the diagnosed issue, the proposed repair plan, and a detailed, transparent cost estimate before commencing any work.
- Maintain a fully-stocked and organized service vehicle with a comprehensive inventory of common parts and tools to maximize first-call completion rates.
- Execute sealed system repairs on refrigeration units, including diagnosis, evacuation, and precise recharging of refrigerants in strict compliance with EPA regulations.
- Process all work orders, document services performed, manage part orders, and process customer payments accurately using a company-issued tablet or mobile device.
- Educate homeowners on proper appliance usage, routine care, and preventative maintenance techniques to extend equipment lifespan and prevent future service calls.
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team and service manager regarding job status, unexpected delays, or complex technical challenges that require additional support.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety at all times, adhering to company protocols for electrical work, lifting heavy objects, and handling materials.
- Conduct thorough post-repair functional tests to verify that the appliance is operating to manufacturer specifications and the root cause of the issue has been resolved.
- Disassemble and reassemble complex appliance units with precision, ensuring all panels, connections, and components are correctly and securely reinstalled.
- Maintain a professional appearance and a courteous, helpful demeanor, representing the company brand with excellence and building customer trust and loyalty.
- Read and expertly interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturer service manuals to effectively troubleshoot and repair a diverse range of brands and models.
