Primary Functions

Read, interpret and work directly from detailed kitchen cabinet shop drawings, cutlists and specifications to produce accurately sized components for cabinet carcasses, doors and panels.

Use routers, shapers, dowel jigs, biscuit joiners, pocket-hole tools and boring machines to prepare joinery, hinge and slide locations per hardware templates and shop standards.
Assemble cabinet carcasses, face frames and drawer boxes using screws, cam connectors, biscuits, dowels and industrial adhesives while checking for square, plumb and true assembly.
Install hardware (soft-close hinges, concealed slides, handles, pulls, drawer systems) and pre-assemble components for efficient installation and handoff to installation teams.
Sand, fill, and perform pre-finish touch-up or apply basic finishes (sealers, primers, lacquers, stains) where required to meet aesthetic and durability specifications.

Accurately complete production paperwork, shop tickets and digital tracking systems to record material usage, labor time, and production yields for each kitchen project.
Assist installers by preparing job-specific components, pre-drilling mounting holes and disassembling large units into installable modules for efficient field assembly.
Follow and enforce shop safety rules, PPE requirements and machine lockout/tagout procedures while maintaining a clean, organized and OSHA-compliant workspace.
Collaborate with production planners and project managers to prioritize daily work, meet shipment windows and update status on rush or change-order items.
Apply corrective actions for defects, participate in root-cause discussions and implement process improvements to reduce rework, scrap and on-site punch lists.
Train and mentor junior shop personnel on safe tool operation, proper setup techniques, consistent edge banding and assembly best practices to raise overall team capability.
Perform simple finish touch-ups, caulking and sealing around joints to ensure packaged components arrive job-ready and reduce field modifications by installers.
Conduct layout and material take-offs from plans and communicate waste factors, sheet optimization suggestions and alternate material recommendations to reduce costs.
Assist with custom one-off requests, prototypes and modifications required by design changes, ensuring that custom cabinetry matches approved samples and drawings.
Monitor and maintain dust collection and shop ventilation points, clean up sawdust and debris regularly and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with regulations.

Secondary Functions

Support cross-functional teams by gathering and communicating production metrics, material needs and schedule impacts to planners and supervisors.
