Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Execute the complete installation of kitchen furniture, including base and wall cabinets, tall units, islands, and pantry systems, according to architectural drawings and design specifications.
  • Expertly read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and layout plans to ensure precise placement and alignment of all components.
  • Perform high-quality assembly of both pre-assembled and flat-pack cabinetry, ensuring all units are square, level, and securely fastened to walls and each other.
  • Skillfully scribe and cut filler strips, plinths (toe-kicks), cornices, and light pelmets to achieve a seamless, integrated fit against uneven walls and ceilings.
  • Install a variety of countertops, including laminate, solid surface, wood, and quartz, performing precise cut-outs for sinks, hobs, and other fixtures.
  • Manage the fitting of kitchen worktops, including creating professional-grade mitre joints for corner sections using specialized jigs and routers.
  • Handle the installation and integration of major kitchen appliances, such as ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, refrigerators, and extractor hoods, ensuring proper fit and connection.
  • Mount and adjust cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and all associated hardware (hinges, handles, pulls, soft-close mechanisms) for perfect gaps and flawless operation.
  • Address and creatively solve unforeseen on-site challenges, such as out-of-plumb walls, uneven floors, or unexpected plumbing/electrical obstructions.
  • Conduct thorough post-installation quality control checks to identify and rectify any defects, ensuring every detail meets or exceeds company and client expectations.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with clients, providing clear project updates and conducting a final walkthrough and handover upon completion.
  • Uphold a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, adhering to all company and OSHA safety protocols to prevent accidents and protect client property.
  • Manage on-site logistics, including receiving and inventorying materials, protecting finishes, and coordinating workflow with other tradespeople like plumbers and electricians.
  • Perform warranty service calls to address post-installation adjustments, repairs, or component replacements, troubleshooting issues to find lasting solutions.
  • Utilize a full range of professional-grade hand tools and power tools (e.g., table saws, mitre saws, jigsaws, routers, drills) with a high degree of precision and safety.
  • Complete all necessary project documentation accurately and promptly, including daily work logs, change orders, material usage reports, and client sign-off forms.
  • Ensure the structural integrity and stability of all installed components, using appropriate fasteners and techniques for various wall types and cabinet weights.
  • Template, measure, and prepare sites for the fabrication and installation of solid surface or stone countertops and backsplashes.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
