Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Accurately measure and create detailed templates for custom glass installations on-site, including complex cutouts for outlets and fixtures.
- Safely transport, handle, and maneuver large, heavy, and fragile glass panels and mirrors from the workshop to the job site.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to understand project specifications and installation requirements.
- Perform precise cutting, grinding, seaming, and polishing of glass edges to ensure a perfect fit and finish.
- Expertly install various types of kitchen glass, including back-painted glass backsplashes, custom mirrors, and glass shelving units.
- Apply high-grade adhesives, silicones, and other sealants to secure glass panels, ensuring a clean, waterproof, and durable bond.
- Mount and install associated hardware, including channels, clips, handles, and framing, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve unforeseen installation challenges on-site, such as uneven walls or unexpected obstructions, with minimal supervision.
- Conduct a final walkthrough with the client upon project completion to ensure complete satisfaction and provide instructions on proper care and maintenance.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times, both in the shop and at customer locations, adhering to all OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, grinders, saws, levels, and laser measurement devices, with a high degree of proficiency.
- Perform meticulous quality control checks throughout the installation process to ensure the final product is free of defects and meets our exacting standards.
- Manage and maintain the inventory of tools, supplies, and materials in your company-provided vehicle.
- Complete all necessary job-related paperwork accurately and promptly, including work orders, change orders, and daily progress reports.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, project managers, and team members to provide status updates and coordinate schedules.
- Drill precise holes in glass and various substrates like tile, granite, and drywall for hardware and fixture mounting.
- Ensure all installed components are plumb, level, and securely fastened according to industry best practices.
- Protect the client's property during installation by using drop cloths, padding, and other protective measures.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any client questions or concerns with a positive and solution-oriented attitude.
- Fabricate and assemble metal framing or U-channel systems as required for specific glass installation projects.
Secondary Functions
