Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Meticulously measure window openings and surrounding areas to ensure precise ordering and a perfect fit for new kitchen window units.
Expertly remove old or damaged window frames, sashes, and glass, taking care to minimize disruption and protect the customer's property, including countertops, flooring, and cabinetry.
Prepare, clean, and repair window openings as necessary, performing minor carpentry and framing adjustments to ensure the opening is structurally sound, plumb, and level.
Skillfully install a variety of new construction and replacement windows, including vinyl, wood, fiberglass, and aluminum types such as casement, double-hung, bay, and garden windows.
Ensure all installed windows are perfectly plumb, level, and square, making precise adjustments to guarantee smooth and proper operation of all moving parts.
Apply high-quality insulation, weather-resistant barriers, and flashing tapes around the window frame to create a complete weatherproof and airtight seal, preventing drafts and water intrusion.
Install and finish interior and exterior trim, casing, and molding with precision, ensuring clean miter cuts and professional-grade finishing.
Apply professional-grade caulk and sealants to all interior and exterior joints and seams, creating a clean, aesthetically pleasing, and durable weatherproof barrier.
Read and accurately interpret work orders, blueprints, and installation diagrams to ensure project specifications are met exactly as designed.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe job site at all times, adhering to company policies and OSHA safety standards to prevent accidents and injuries.
Communicate professionally and effectively with homeowners, clearly explaining the installation process, answering questions, and addressing any concerns to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Troubleshoot and resolve unforeseen installation challenges on-site, such as unexpected rot, out-of-square openings, or structural issues, by applying creative and effective solutions.
Load and unload heavy window units, tools, and materials from company vehicles, ensuring all items are handled safely and secured properly for transport.
Perform detailed finish work, including paint touch-ups, hardware installation, and final cleaning of the work area and new window unit.
Adhere strictly to all local building codes and manufacturer installation guidelines to ensure every installation is compliant and the product warranty is maintained.
Manage and maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and installation materials on the company vehicle, reporting any needs for replenishment or repair.
Conduct a final walk-through with the customer upon project completion to demonstrate window features and confirm satisfaction, obtaining necessary sign-offs.
Work collaboratively as part of a two-person team to safely lift, carry, and set large or heavy window units into place.
