Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Accurately locate and retrieve specified components, parts, and materials from designated inventory storage locations based on detailed work orders, pick lists, or digital instructions.
Systematically assemble individual components into complete kits, ensuring all parts are present, correctly oriented, and packaged according to precise assembly instructions and quality standards.
Meticulously verify part numbers, quantities, and lot codes against the Bill of Materials (BOM) to guarantee 100% accuracy for every kit.
Operate radio frequency (RF) scanners, handheld terminals, or other inventory management system tools to accurately record the movement of parts from stock to kits.
Follow detailed visual aids, work instructions, and product schematics to ensure the correct assembly and sequence of components within each package.
Perform thorough quality checks on components before and after kitting, identifying and reporting any defective, damaged, or incorrect parts to a supervisor.
Prepare kits for their next destination by properly packaging, sealing, labeling, and palletizing them according to internal and external shipping requirements.
Manage and prioritize multiple work orders simultaneously, adapting to changing production schedules and urgent requests to meet critical deadlines.
Conduct transactions within the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Warehouse Management System (WMS) to maintain real-time inventory accuracy.
Identify discrepancies between physical inventory and system records, and assist in root cause analysis and resolution to prevent future errors.
Assemble a wide variety of kits, ranging from simple component bags to complex multi-level sub-assemblies for manufacturing or customer orders.
Weigh, count, and measure parts using scales, calipers, and other tools to ensure exact quantities and specifications are met for each kit.
Handle and transport materials using manual pallet jacks, carts, or other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure all paperwork, labels, and system entries associated with a kitting order are completed accurately and attached to the correct physical kit.

Secondary Functions

Proactively maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation and surrounding kitting area, adhering to 5S principles and company safety protocols.
Participate in regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory activities to support the overall inventory accuracy goals of the department.
Assist in training new team members on kitting procedures, quality standards, and system usage to foster a knowledgeable and effective team.
