Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Accurately pick, count, and gather individual components from various warehouse inventory locations based on detailed work orders and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Methodically assemble multi-component product kits, ensuring all parts are present, correctly identified, and meet quality specifications before distribution.
- Perform meticulous quality control checks on pulled parts and completed kits to identify and report any defects, damages, or discrepancies.
- Securely package, label, and stage completed kits for seamless hand-off to the manufacturing, production, or assembly lines.
- Operate RF (Radio Frequency) barcode scanners to accurately track the movement of inventory, process work orders, and maintain real-time data integrity.
- Diligently follow standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency, safety, and high-quality output.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Interpret and execute tasks from various documents, including pick lists, assembly diagrams, and digital work orders, to meet production schedules.
- Immediately report any inventory shortages, overages, or location inaccuracies to the Inventory Control team or a supervisor for swift resolution.

- Verify part numbers, lot codes, and quantities against the Bill of Materials to prevent errors in the final assembly process.
- Assist in the preparation and breakdown of workstations, ensuring all necessary tools, supplies, and documentation are available at the start of a job.
- Manage and prioritize multiple kitting orders simultaneously to meet an often-demanding production timeline without sacrificing accuracy.
- Conduct visual inspections of components to ensure they are free from cosmetic defects and meet the required standards before being included in a kit.
- Perform basic data entry tasks into the company's ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or WMS (Warehouse Management System) to update order statuses.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Proactively communicate any potential delays or issues with work orders to the team lead to allow for adjustments in the production plan.
- Aid in the return-to-stock process for unused components, ensuring they are correctly counted and put back into their designated inventory locations.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Secondary Functions
- Assist with periodic inventory cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure system-wide stock accuracy.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions for process enhancements.
- Provide support to the shipping and receiving departments during peak operational times or as needed.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- RF Scanner Proficiency: Experience using handheld RF scanners for inventory tracking and order picking.
- Basic Computer Literacy: Competency with basic computer applications, including data entry and navigating software interfaces (experience with MS Office is a plus).
- Inventory System Familiarity: Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Mathematical Acumen: Strong basic math skills for counting, verifying quantities, and performing simple calculations.
- Understanding of BOMs: Ability to read and interpret a Bill of Materials (BOM), pick lists, and assembly instructions.
