Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Accurately pick and gather a variety of components from designated warehouse locations using RF scanners, pick lists, and detailed bills of materials (BOMs).
- Meticulously assemble and package individual items into complete kits, following precise, step-by-step instructions to ensure proper sequence, placement, and presentation.
- Perform rigorous quality control checks on all individual components and the final assembled kit to guarantee they meet strict quality standards and customer specifications.
- Operate barcode scanners and other data collection devices to accurately record transactions, track inventory movements, and update the Warehouse Management System (WMS) in real-time.
- Generate and affix appropriate labels, barcodes, and other identification tags to components, sub-assemblies, and finished kits for proper tracking and routing.
- Manage and organize work orders, ensuring that kits are prioritized and completed in accordance with production schedules and shipping deadlines.
- Safely operate essential material handling equipment (MHE), including manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and potentially forklifts, to transport materials and finished goods.
- Maintain a highly organized and efficient personal workstation, ensuring all necessary supplies, tools, and components are readily accessible to maximize productivity.
- Interpret complex work orders and assembly diagrams to understand the specific requirements for each unique kit, including special packaging or handling needs.
- Systematically count, sort, and verify incoming parts against purchase orders or transfer documents to ensure the accuracy of inventory used for kitting.
- Prepare and palletize finished kits for shipment or for transfer to other internal departments, ensuring they are stable, secure, and properly documented.
- Collaborate closely with inventory control teams to report any discrepancies, stock shortages, or overages discovered during the kitting process.
- Follow all established company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Monitor the supply levels of kitting materials, such as boxes, bags, tape, and dunnage, and communicate replenishment needs to the team lead or supervisor.
- Document and record production data, including the quantity of kits produced, time taken per order, and any non-conformance or quality issues encountered.
- Adapt to changing production demands and priorities, demonstrating flexibility to switch between different kitting projects or assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions on how to optimize the kitting process for greater efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Carefully handle and package sensitive or fragile components, utilizing appropriate protective materials and techniques to prevent damage during assembly and transit.
- Verify that the correct revisions of parts and materials are being used for each kit by cross-referencing part numbers and revision levels with the official work order.
- Perform final inspections of completed kits, confirming that all components are present, correctly assembled, and packaged according to the highest professional standards before release.
- Build custom kits based on customer specifications, which may involve light assembly, collating, and arranging various items into a cohesive package.
- Communicate effectively with team leaders, supervisors, and other department personnel regarding the status of work orders, potential delays, or material issues.
Secondary Functions
- Assist with cycle counts and participate in full physical inventory audits to help maintain the highest level of inventory accuracy across the facility.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment by adhering to 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Provide flexible support to other warehouse departments, including shipping, receiving, or order picking, during peak periods or based on operational needs.
- Report any product damage, equipment malfunctions, or potential safety hazards immediately to the appropriate supervisor or manager for resolution.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- RF Scanner Proficiency: Experience using Radio Frequency (RF) scanning devices for picking, inventory transactions, and order processing.
- WMS/ERP Experience: Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Fishbowl) for inventory tracking.
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operation: Ability to safely operate manual/electric pallet jacks, and a willingness to be trained/certified on forklifts or order pickers.
- Basic Computer Literacy: Competency in using basic computer applications for tasks such as printing labels, data entry, and looking up work instructions.
- Light Assembly Skills: Dexterity and ability to use small hand tools, scales, and sealing equipment to assemble and package products.

Minimum Education:
