Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Execute the complete installation of hardscape features, including patios, walkways, and driveways, using materials like interlocking pavers, natural stone, and poured concrete.
Construct structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing retaining walls, seating walls, and garden borders using segmental blocks, natural boulders, or mortared stone.
Interpret and implement landscape architecture blueprints, site plans, and construction drawings to ensure accurate project execution from start to finish.
Operate a variety of heavy and light construction equipment, such as skid steers, mini-excavators, plate compactors, and trenchers, for grading, excavation, and material transport.
Perform all phases of site preparation, including demolition of existing structures, land clearing, and precise rough and fine grading to establish proper elevations and drainage.
Install comprehensive subsurface drainage systems, including French drains, catch basins, and channel drains, to effectively manage stormwater on site.
Build custom wooden structures, including decks, pergolas, arbors, and fences, ensuring they meet design specifications and local building codes.
Install complete low-voltage landscape lighting systems, which involves trenching, running wire, setting fixtures, and connecting transformers to enhance ambiance and safety.
Execute softscape installation plans, including the proper planting of trees, shrubs, perennials, and groundcovers according to horticultural best practices for long-term health.
Install and grade topsoil, lay sod, or apply seed and erosion control blankets to establish lush and healthy turf areas as part of the project's final phase.
Construct and install various water features, from naturalistic ponds and streams to formal fountains, including the installation of liners, pumps, and filtration equipment.
Read and utilize grade stakes, laser levels, and transits to ensure all site elements are built to the correct height, slope, and dimension.
Manage on-site logistics, including the timely ordering, receiving, and organized staging of plants, soil, stone, and other construction materials to maintain project flow.
Proactively identify and solve on-the-job challenges, such as unexpected soil conditions, material discrepancies, or weather-related delays.
Uphold a rigorous standard of job site safety by adhering to all company policies and OSHA regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the entire duration of the project, from initial mobilization to final demobilization.
Communicate progress, challenges, and daily plans effectively with the Crew Foreman, Project Manager, and other team members.
Perform meticulous quality control throughout the construction process, ensuring all work meets the company's high standards for craftsmanship and durability.
Accurately track and document daily labor hours, tasks performed, and materials used to aid in job costing and project management.
Guide, mentor, and train less experienced crew members on proper installation techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.

Secondary Functions

Engage in seasonal property maintenance, which may include tasks like spring/fall cleanups or commercial snow and ice management during winter months.
Assist with the routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic repair of company tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment.

Required Skills & Competencies
