- Prepare and maintain daily site reports, time sheets, material usage logs, and photo documentation for project records and client communication.
- Identify and troubleshoot site issues (drainage problems, unforeseen utilities, grading conflicts) and propose practical, cost‑effective corrective actions to supervisors and clients.
- Supervise subcontractors and specialty trades (irrigation, lighting, fencing) to ensure work integrates with the overall construction sequence and quality expectations.
- Ensure correct compaction, base depths, bedding materials and jointing techniques are used for pavers and stone to meet warranty and performance standards.
- Assist with on‑site estimating and material takeoffs by providing field measurements, labor hour feedback and supplier recommendations to improve budgeting accuracy.
- Perform final walkthroughs and punch‑list completion, ensuring the project meets specifications and customer expectations before sign‑off.
- Enforce environmental controls and erosion prevention measures, including sediment control, proper stockpile management and compliance with municipal permit conditions.
- Train crew members on installation techniques, equipment operation and safety procedures, fostering skill development and cross‑training to improve crew flexibility.
- Manage on‑site quality control checks at key milestones (subgrade approval, base compaction, stone setting, irrigation testing) and escalate nonconformances promptly.
- Assist with small client change orders and scope adjustments, documenting changes, obtaining approvals and coordinating implementation within the site schedule.
- Conduct basic maintenance and minor repairs on hand tools, power tools and landscape equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of timesheets, material consumption reports and equipment logs to support project accounting and payroll.
- Promote a customer‑focused approach on site, representing the company professionally during client interactions and responding promptly to client concerns or questions.
