This role requires a talented and passionate Lash Technician (or Lash Artist) to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for the full client journey, from the initial consultation and custom design to the precise application and aftercare education. Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct in-depth, personalized client consultations to understand their desired look, assess their natural lashes, and discuss any potential contraindications.
  • Design and map customized eyelash extension styles (e.g., Cat Eye, Doll Eye, Natural) tailored to each client's eye shape, facial features, and lifestyle.
  • Expertly apply a full range of eyelash extension types, including Classic, Hybrid, Volume, and Mega Volume, ensuring meticulous isolation and placement.
  • Perform fill appointments with precision, removing grown-out extensions and applying new ones to maintain the integrity and fullness of the set.
  • Execute safe and gentle removal of eyelash extensions using professional-grade removers and techniques to protect the health of the client's natural lashes.
  • Provide clients with comprehensive aftercare instructions, both verbal and written, to maximize lash retention and health.
  • Uphold the highest standards of sanitation and hygiene, thoroughly disinfecting all tools, equipment, and workstations between each client appointment.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential client records, including consultation notes, patch test results, services performed, and products purchased.
  • Perform allergy patch tests for new clients to ensure their safety and comfort with the adhesives and products used.
  • Educate clients on the benefits of complementary services such as lash lifts, tints, and conditioning treatments.
  • Stay current with the latest industry trends, application techniques, and product innovations through continuous education and professional development.

Secondary Functions

  • Build and nurture a strong, loyal client base through exceptional service, relationship-building, and proactive rebooking.
  • Actively promote and sell retail aftercare products and lash-safe cosmetics to enhance client results and generate additional revenue.
  • Manage your appointment schedule effectively, ensuring timely starts and finishes to respect the time of all clients and fellow technicians.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing personal workspace and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the studio.
  • Create and manage a professional portfolio of your work (e.g., on social media) to showcase your skills and attract new clientele.
  • Handle client inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Assist with front desk duties as needed, including greeting clients, answering phones, processing payments, and scheduling appointments.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and studio-led promotional events to foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Monitor and manage personal inventory of lash supplies and communicate restocking needs to the studio manager in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all state and local health and safety regulations, as well as studio policies and procedures, without exception.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Lashing Techniques: Proficiency in Classic, Volume, and Hybrid lash application, including fan-making and proper placement.
  • Lash Isolation: The ability to perfectly isolate a single natural lash before applying an extension, which is critical for lash health.
  • Lash Mapping & Styling: The artistic skill to design custom lash sets that complement a client's unique eye shape and features.
  • Sanitation & Sterilization Protocols: Deep knowledge of industry-standard hygiene, disinfection, and sterilization practices.
  • Adhesive Knowledge: Understanding of different lash adhesives, their properties (e.g., humidity, temperature), and proper usage for optimal retention.
  • Lash Lift & Tint Application: Competency in performing lash lift (perming) and tinting services safely and effectively.
  • Client Health Assessment: Ability to identify potential contraindications, allergies, and eye conditions that would prevent service.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Active and valid state-issued Cosmetology or Esthetician license.

Preferred Education:

  • Advanced, accredited certifications in Volume and/or Mega Volume lashing techniques.
  • Certification in Lash Lift and Tinting services.

Relevant Fields of Study:

  • Cosmetology

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 1-3 years of hands-on, professional experience as a Lash Technician in a salon or studio environment.

Preferred: A strong, professional, and current portfolio of work that showcases a diverse range of styles and consistently high-quality results. Experience with a client booking software is a plus.
